Within Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M), Structured Asset Finance (SAF) plays a key role in enabling investment across transport, infrastructure, supply chains, energy transition, and industrial sectors. CommBank’s SAF team are recognised as leaders in the market, including our ability to take residual value risk in various assets.
We’re looking for a high-performing Director to join our origination and structuring team, focused on driving new business, deepening client relationships, and delivering complex asset-backed financing solutions.
This is a front-office role at the heart of SAF’s growth agenda, where you will originate, structure and oversee execution of transactions while building a strong personal franchise across clients, sponsors, and internal stakeholders.
You’ll work closely with Client Coverage, Product, Markets, SAF Executions and Risk teams to deliver tailored financing solutions, playing a critical role in expanding SAF’s presence across both IB&M and large Business Bank clients.
Originate new Structured Asset Finance opportunities through proactive banker and client engagement, and market activity
Build and maintain senior relationships with clients, sponsors, advisers and internal stakeholders
Lead transactions end-to-end, from origination through structuring, credit approval and hand-over to executions
Provide input into sector-based origination strategies aligned to SAF’s priorities
Structure and deliver tailored asset-backed financing solutions, including lending and leasing
Partner across Coverage, Risk, Treasury and Legal to deliver commercial, well-governed outcomes
Extensive experience in structured or asset-based finance, or related disciplines such as project finance, leveraged finance or private credit
Proven track record of originating and executing complex financing transactions, with a proactive approach to sourcing new opportunities
Strong technical expertise across structuring, credit, capital and documentation
Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills
Experience working in a client-focused, transaction-driven environment, balancing client outcomes with risk-adjusted returns
