We are currently seeking a Director of State Government Affairs to join our dynamic, fast-paced government affairs team to assist in managing the company’s legislative and regulatory priorities. Qualified candidates will have 10+ years of strong public policy and/or corporate government affairs experience at the state legislative or regulatory environment with a demonstrated ability to independently lead highly-leveraged state advocacy campaigns and initiatives. This individual must be self-motivated and have the ability to manage several high-profile issues at once. Superior written and verbal skills are non-negotiable.

This position will report to our Senior Director of State Government Affairs and work closely with the broader DaVita State Government Affairs team, including the Group Vice President of State Government Affairs to manage DaVita’s state policy initiatives and ensure the company’s interests are represented before appropriate state legislative and regulatory entities in the Southeast region of the U.S. The position will provide leadership, management, and coordination of the enterprise’s state public policy activities and requires an individual with strong public policy and government affairs experience. This position will manage external state lobby teams representing DaVita.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Works with the Senior Director, State Government Affairs to help manage the company’s state public policy initiatives in the Southeast Region.
  • Analyzes state legislative, regulatory threats and opportunities and helps execute on strategies to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.
  • Assists in drafting necessary advocacy materials and other resources needed to drive state policy campaigns, initiatives (superior written and verbal skills a must)
  • Provides leadership to senior management offering guidance and direction on public policy matters.
  • Assists in managing external lobby team for including engagement and tracking of relevant legislation and regulations affecting the company.
  • Works with the broader DaVita State Government Affairs team to establish and execute long-term strategic goals and manages implementation to achieve organizational public policy goals.
  • Works with regulatory agencies, industry groups and community organizations to assure that DaVita is a valued community resource and partner.
  • Assists in creation and execution of political giving strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of public policy, state government affairs experience
  • Health care policy background, knowledge preferred

The Salary Range for the role is $129,000.00 - $205,000.00 per year. If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hourWashington Exempt: $80,168.40/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.71/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour
