• This role is a Senior Executive Band One, offers a total remuneration package starting at $239,251 to $264,197, including superannuation, commensurate with experience. 

• Temporary role up to September 2027, with the potential to become ongoing.

About the Role

We are seeking a Director, Strategy Planning and Innovation (SPI) to lead the data centres and energy workstreams. The role involves working closely with industry, utilities, and government stakeholders, in a complex environment with competing priorities that cut across infrastructure sectors, including energy, water, and telecommunications.

Some of the key responsibilities for the role include:

• Lead the development and delivery of work programs, defining scope, deliverables and priorities within a dynamic and evolving environment.

• Apply expertise in infrastructure planning, design, delivery and procurement to provide strategic advice and support policy development and implementation.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders to inform policy outcomes, influence related initiatives and drive alignment across government.

• Foster productive partnerships with NSW Government agencies, industry and interstate counterparts to support collaboration and the advancement of strategic policy objectives.

• Leverage stakeholder networks and market insights to stay informed of emerging infrastructure trends, initiatives and opportunities that inform advice and decision-making.

• Represent Infrastructure NSW at key government, industry and stakeholder forums, promoting collaboration and strategic outcomes.

About You

You will bring tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience, together with demonstrated experience in a similar role.

You will have a strong understanding of the NSW Government infrastructure context, as well as knowledge of the policy and industry landscape relating to data centres and the net zero transition in infrastructure.

Your ability to provide strategic advice, navigate complex stakeholder environments and contribute to policy development will be complemented by a strong understanding of government processes and priorities.
