Job Description

About the Role:

The Director, Dow Jones Sourcing is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing all sourcing activities across the entire Dow Jones Business Unit, including all of its distinct brands and businesses. Reporting directly to the SVP, Finance and a dotted line report to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) of News Corp, this individual will serve as the strategic bridge between Dow Jones and the News Corp Sourcing Center of Excellence (COE).

The Director will oversee and help optimize the Dow Jones end-to-end source-to-contract (S2C) workflow, ensuring the ideal balance of local agility and global scale. This role directly manages a team of two Manager-level sourcing professionals who oversee bespoke spend categories specific to Dow Jones.

You Will:

  • Direct, mentor, and develop a team of two Sourcing Managers responsible for bespoke, high-value Dow Jones categories (e.g., Newsroom, Risk & Compliance, Market Research)
  • Optimize workload distribution and resource allocation between the dedicated local Dow Jones sourcing team and the News Corp Global Sourcing COE to maximize efficiency and value.
  • Serve as the primary, trusted advisor to Dow Jones executive leadership and FP&A teams to align third-party spend with overarching business growth and financial targets.
  • Oversee and drive the collaboration with the News Corp Sourcing COE, ensuring global category strategies seamlessly integrate with and reflect the unique requirements of Dow Jones brands.
  • Be the champion on behalf of the Dow Jones organization for the global Source-to-Contract (S2C) process by identifying opportunities to optimize by leveraging global sourcing excellence templates, playbooks, and procurement technologies.
  • Establish clear decision-rights, approval thresholds, and interaction models to operationalize the "Think Global, Fit Local" framework across corporate boundaries.
  • Act as the DJ escalation point and "Voice of the Customer," maintaining a continuous two-way feedback loop to improve COE service delivery for Dow Jones.
  • Drive the realization of cost-savings targets, value creation, and competitive advantage across all Dow Jones business lines.
  • Oversee critical supplier performance metrics and compliance frameworks, managing high-level vendor escalations to mitigate commercial and operational risk.

You Have:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with clear progression into leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of managing, coaching, and elevating high-performing procurement professionals.
  • Deep experience operating within a large, highly matrixed, global corporate environment.
  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and drive complex, cross-functional decisions.
  • Advanced mastery of S2C processes, complex commercial agreement structures, negotiation strategies, and key legal/risk terms.
  • Procurement or Supply Chain certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are desirable.
