Volunteers of America–Greater New York (VOA–Greater New York) is a leading anti-poverty organization serving neighbors in need across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester. Through 70+ programs, we support over 35,000 adults and children each year, including individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, youth aging out of foster care, veterans, seniors, and children with developmental delays.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Position: Director, Social Services

The Director, Social Services is responsible for ensuring the quality of behavioral health services delivered across the Homeless Services Sector. They will identify, implement and assess program models, train all staff involved with behavioral health services, share in the hiring and evaluation of mental health employees, and represent the agency in professional meetings and other community events.

Empower Residence is a 24/7 transitional housing program for women, operating under HRA/DSS guidelines. As an enhanced shelter, we support residents facing challenges such as mental health needs, substance use, unemployment, and poverty. Location: New York, NY 10023

Minimum Qualifications:
• The position requires a Master's Degree in Social Work.
• Licensed Masters Social Work (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in the administration of human services programs, including quality assurance experience.

Director, Social Services Principal Responsibilities:
1. Ensure quality of behavioral health services delivered.
2. Identify and implement program models, evaluation procedures and outcome measures.
3. Maintain compliance with contractual and agency requirements.
4. Establish linkages with community service providers.
5. Provide training to staff in techniques of supporting persons with behavioral health issues.
6. Lead Grand Rounds style clinical case conferences.
7. Provide input to the Hiring Authority on the selection and evaluation of staff assigned to specialized mental health positions.
8. Represent the agency at professional behavioral health and community events.
9. Perform other related duties as required.
