Job Description

Director, Senior HRBP (fixed term 12 months)

People & Organisation

Zurich, Switzerland

Are you a senior HR professional ready to shape people strategy across two critical functions in one of Novo Nordisk's most dynamic operational units? This is your opportunity to partner directly with functional leaders, drive meaningful organisational changes, and help build the workforce that will serve millions of patients worldwide.

Your new role

As Senior HR Business Partner to the functional heads of Medical, Marketing & Regulatory (MM&R), you will join a newly established People & Organisation team within International Operations' Strategic Operations office. You will take responsibility for translating business strategy into people strategy, coaching senior leaders, and driving the organisation agenda across three functions that are essential to how we operate with integrity and bring treatments to patients across International Operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with the MM&R functional heads and their leadership teams to drive organisational efficiency, scalability, and agility – ensuring readiness for current and future demands
  • Acting as an ambassador for culture and engagement, shaping a diverse, inclusive, and engaging employee environment rooted in the Novo Nordisk Way
  • Leading strategic workforce planning and ensuring future capability needs are continuously assessed and addressed across both functions
  • Driving talent development together with leadership teams, identifying opportunities that enable employees to reach their full potential
  • Enabling new ways of working with a focus on speed, agility, and simplicity across MM&R
  • Leading the functional HRBP community across IO Regions, ensuring strategically important P&O focus areas are discussed and implemented
  • Collaborating closely with global functions at HQ, their HR Business Partners, and Centres of Excellence to drive alignment in a complex matrix environment

Your new department

As part of International Operations, you will join our largest operational unit. Covering 194 countries and 95% of the world's population, more than 18,000 of us work passionately to serve 35 million patients each day. With a promise to outperform the competition, we continue to be the growth driver for Novo Nordisk, and to improve health at scale across the globe.

Headquartered in Zurich, the People & Organisation team within IO's Strategic Operations office is a newly established team of highly experienced HR professionals. Together, you support and coach senior stakeholders in driving the people and organisation agenda across 22 time zones. You will report directly to the CVP of P&O in International Operations, giving you visibility and influence at the highest level of the organisation.

Your skills & qualifications

We're looking for a seasoned HR leader who thrives in complexity and brings both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You'll bring with you:

  • A master's degree and a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience as an HR Business Partner in an international environment
  • Proven experience working with and advising senior leadership teams in a global matrix setting
  • A strong track record of supporting large and complex organisational transformations
  • Excellent stakeholder management, change management, and cross-geographical collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate with impact
  • Broad HR and or Consultancy expertise as a senior generalist or specialist with experience across all areas of global HR functions
