Director of Sales is responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies that drive sustainable sales, volume, profit, and market share growth across assigned geographies, customers, and channels. The role translates corporate objectives and annual operating plans (AOP) into actionable business goals, sales strategies, and integrated customer plans that deliver revenue and financial targets. Accountable for achieving optimum business results, the Director leads and develops high-performing sales organizations, including Distributor account managers, field sales teams, brokers, and other commercial resources, ensuring alignment with company objectives and growth priorities.
The Director oversees the commercial business within their area of responsibility, building strategic customer partnerships and ensuring effective execution of business plans that drive sustainable growth and profitability.
Responsibilities include directing sales forecasting, establishing performance objectives, analyzing market trends and customer needs, developing pricing and promotional strategies, and identifying opportunities to optimize product portfolios and business performance. Through cross-functional collaboration with marketing, field sales, national and regional accounts, and other key stakeholders, the Director implements best-in-class business practices that capitalize on growth opportunities, mitigate risks, and drive category leadership and profitable growth in assigned markets.
· Lead the commercial business for assigned customers, markets, or geographies, translating strategic priorities into actionable business plans that deliver revenue, profit, volume, market share, and growth objectives.
· Develop, execute, and continuously optimize integrated customer and commercial business plans, aligning company and customer objectives to maximize business results.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal cross-functional partners, including Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, Customer Operations, Legal, Commercial Planning, Demand Planning, and Analytics teams.
· Lead annual business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance management processes, including management of trade investments, profit and loss scenarios, pricing strategies, and financial objectives.
· Leverage customer, category, market, and industry insights to identify opportunities, activate solutions, and develop compelling value propositions that drive growth and strengthen customer partnerships.
· Develop and execute category, assortment, distribution, pricing, merchandising, promotional, and portfolio strategies that support business objectives and customer needs.
· Monitor, analyze, and communicate business performance using internal and external data sources and analytical tools, implementing corrective actions as needed to achieve targets.
· Develop accurate forecasts and collaborate cross-functionally to balance demand, supply, inventory, and financial objectives.
· Serve as a trusted business and category advisor to customers by providing strategic insights, thought leadership, and recommendations that drive mutual growth.
· Identify, develop, and deliver strategic initiatives and business opportunities that have significant impact on organizational performance and long-term growth.
· Lead collaborative business planning with customer leadership teams, establishing measurable objectives and success metrics through joint business plans and scorecards.
· Align and mobilize resources across the organization to support customer and business priorities, ensuring effective execution of key initiatives.
· Lead, develop, and coach sales and account management teams by setting objectives, establishing priorities, managing performance, and building organizational capability.
· Ensure effective administration of business operations, including budget management, trade investment oversight, compliance requirements, staffing, compensation, and other commercial processes.
· Provide leadership and direction consistent with company strategy, fostering collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and a customer-focused culture.

Pay Rate or Range: $164,470.00 - $246,710.00
