Summary of Role:

We are seeking a Director of Sales, Japan for our Commercial & Customers Team to lead and execute GlobalFoundries’ commercial strategy within Japan, driving revenue growth and strengthening strategic partnerships with key customers, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders.

This leadership role requires a deep understanding of the semiconductor industry, strong business acumen, and the ability to navigate the unique business and customer landscape in Japan while aligning with GlobalFoundries’ global commercial strategy. The Director will play a critical role in expanding market share, enhancing customer engagement, and delivering sustainable business growth.

The successful candidate will serve as a key commercial leader for GlobalFoundries in Japan, overseeing customer relationships, sales execution, and strategic initiatives. The individual will work cross-functionally to align internal teams and ensure delivery against business objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy to drive revenue growth and market expansion within Japan.
• Identify new business opportunities and align regional strategies with GlobalFoundries’ global objectives.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, ensuring alignment with their strategic priorities.
• Strengthen GlobalFoundries’ competitive position by leveraging market insights, customer feedback, and industry trends.
• Establish and manage strategic partnerships across the semiconductor ecosystem, including customers, partners, and key industry stakeholders.
• Own sales pipeline management, forecasting, and revenue delivery for the region.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, supply chain, legal, and operations teams to deliver customer solutions.
• Navigate complex negotiations, contracts, and commercial agreements to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Address market challenges proactively while advocating for GlobalFoundries’ interests within the region.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team (if applicable), fostering a culture of accountability and customer focus.
• Drive operational excellence, ensuring effective execution of sales processes and customer engagements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in semiconductor or technology-related commercial leadership roles.
• Proven track record of growing revenue and managing large-scale customer relationships.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor market dynamics, regulatory environment, and competitive landscape.
• Experience navigating complex geopolitical and trade considerations in a global business context.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
