As a Director, Experience, Technology and Compliance (Research and Evaluation) you will provide strategic leadership for research, monitoring, and learning across the Community Delivery practice, establishing culturally grounded frameworks that support quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will lead evaluation initiatives with communities, clients, and internal teams, embedding evidence-informed decision-making into programs and policy.

This is a full-time, one year term position offered in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Hybrid or remote.

About the Opportunity:

  • Provide strategic leadership and advisory support by delivering evidence-based insights to strengthen policy, programs, and services. Offer analysis, options, and recommendations to Community Delivery and Castlemain leadership, while supervising and mentoring research and evaluation staff.
  • Lead the design and implementation of research and evaluation initiatives across programs and projects, working collaboratively with communities and clients to co-design culturally respectful frameworks that align with Indigenous data sovereignty principles, OCAP, and community priorities.
  • Oversee monitoring, data quality, and performance measurement systems, including the development of key performance indicators and reporting tools such as Power BI dashboards to support informed decision-making.
  • Promote learning and knowledge sharing across programs by translating research findings into accessible insights, supporting reflection with communities and teams, and ensuring evaluation results inform program improvements and future initiatives.
  • Contribute to business development and practice growth by supporting proposals, work plans, and budgets, shaping evaluation components of program designs, and helping advance thought leadership through reports, presentations, and publications.

About You:

You bring 8 or more years of progressive experience in research, evaluation, monitoring or related roles and:

  • University degree in public policy, social sciences, Indigenous studies, evaluation or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and culturally grounded methodologies, including working within Indigenous research ethics and OCAP aligned approaches.
  • Experience designing and implementing evaluation frameworks in complex environments.
  • Experience leading teams and supervising technical staff, including analysts and evaluation.
  • Strong skills in qualitative and quantitative methods, including design, data collection, analysis and synthesis.
  • Experience with monitoring and performance measurement, including indicator development and dashboard design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across formats, including reports, decks, visuals and facilitated sessions.
  • Experience working with data visualization tools such as Power BI and with Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to internal meetings or client engagements.

Successful candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment.

Compensation:

Starting annual compensation of $87,000-$125,000 plus rewarding benefits package. The offered compensation will take into account the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
