Job Description

Volunteers of America–Greater New York (VOA–Greater New York) is a leading anti-poverty organization serving neighbors in need across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Position: Director of Quality Assurance and New Initiatives (Hybrid)

The Director of Quality Assurance and New Initiatives is responsible for all quality improvement and staff development activities to insure accurate implementation by staff of the approved Volunteers of America treatment models and program procedures. The Director of Quality Assurance and New Initiatives also serves as the project manager for the programs funding source initiatives and is responsible for researching and identifying prospective growth opportunities. Director of Quality Assurance and New Initiatives monitors the delivery of services, as defined by certification criteria, funder and licensing standards, and client needs.

Location: New York, NY 10020 (May require some travel)

Minimum Qualifications:
• The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years experience in program management, staff supervision, program evaluation, and staff training and experience with treatment models like those used by Volunteers of America.
• The position requires a combination of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: ability to apply principles of empirical outcome measurement, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; knowledge of the principles of social learning theory; ability to assess, determine methodologies, and evaluate staff training needs and systems; ability to develop and present training programs to develop staff skills; and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

Director of Quality Assurance and New Initiatives Principal Responsibilities:
1. Monitor outcome measures for programs; monitor and evaluate corrective action plans to insure quality service delivery.
2. Educate all levels of staff in appropriate treatment models and on the principles, tools, and techniques of quality improvement through the design and implementation of effective training programs.
3. Manage the evaluation of assigned agency programs to insure quality and compliance with, funder, licensing, and certification standards. Monitor the status of all plans of corrections to ensure continued compliance.
4. Supervise assigned staff.
5. Track and monitor data related to program outcomes and compile data from all sources to develop and update resource manual.
6. Participate in the proposal writing, development process and expansion of programs and assist with development and implementation of new programs and projects.
7. Coordinate special programs to enhance service delivery (including software systems) and program development and assist with development of corporate culture and serves as a trainer for new initiatives.
