Director of Quality & Safety – Keep Conhagen Spinning Smoothly

Conhagen is the go-to expert for repairing, rerating, and redesigning industrial rotating equipment — pumps, turbines, compressors — the critical machinery that keeps refineries, petrochemical plants, and power generation running. With established shops in Texas, California, Illinois, and Louisiana — and an expanding footprint into new markets — we’re growing fast while staying true to our reputation for precision and reliability.

We’re looking for a Director of Quality & Safety who’s ready to take ownership of our quality and safety programs across all locations. Based in La Marque, Texas (with up to 50% travel to our other sites), you’ll report directly to the President and partner closely with local leadership to build, implement, and continuously improve the systems that keep our people safe and our work world-class.

What You’ll Do (and Why It’s Exciting)

• Design and roll out clear, practical quality and safety standards that work from the shop floor to the executive suite.
• Lead the selection and implementation of modern QMS and safety software (think ERP-integrated tracking and real-time dashboards).
• Create standardized root-cause tools (8D, FMEA, SPC) and train teams to use them — turning problems into lasting fixes.
• Be the visible champion on-site: travel to all four states, coach local quality/safety leads, and help solve real issues in real time.
• Build a proactive safety and quality culture through training, communication, and recognition programs everyone actually wants to participate in.
• Stay ahead of regulations (OSHA, ISO 9001/45001, API) and make compliance feel straightforward instead of overwhelming.

Who Thrives Here

Required:

• OSHT certification
• 10+ years in quality and/or safety management, with at least 5 years in industrial or rotating equipment environments
• Proven experience creating standards and guiding multi-site implementation
• Comfortable traveling up to 50% and being hands-on in shop settings
• Strong analytics skills (Excel, Minitab, SPC tools, safety software platforms)

Strongly Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, or related field
• Certifications like CSP, CIH, ASQ CQE, or Six Sigma Black Belt
• Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or precision rotating equipment services
• Track record of building safety/quality cultures across multiple locations
