Job Description

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (“HSH” – owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, The Repulse Bay and many high-profile assets globally) is looking for a dynamic Director, Project Management to join our Corporate Projects team in Hong Kong. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of high-profile capital projects across the HSH Group, ensuring successful execution from concept through completion. You will drive project strategy, governance, stakeholder alignment, and delivery excellence across complex, multi-year developments that support the Group’s long-term growth, brand ambitions, and operational objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of major capital projects and development programmes, providing overall accountability for strategy, execution, governance, and successful project outcomes in alignment with business, operational, financial, and brand objectives.
  • Define and drive project delivery strategies, governance frameworks, and execution plans, ensuring effective management of scope, programme, budget, risk, quality, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as the owner’s senior representative and single point of accountability, leading engagement with consultants, designers, contractors, operators, and executive stakeholders to ensure alignment, timely decision-making, and successful project delivery.
  • Provide strategic leadership across multidisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration, high performance, and accountability while ensuring adherence to organisational standards, policies, and project controls.
  • Oversee project risk, commercial, and delivery performance, identifying critical issues, driving mitigation strategies, and ensuring proactive management of programme, cost, contractual, and operational risks.
  • Partner closely with Commercial, Procurement, Design, Technical Services, and Operations teams to develop delivery and procurement strategies, support key commercial decisions, and ensure project solutions meet operational requirements and long-term asset objectives.
  • Ensure successful transition from project delivery to operations, maintaining accountability for testing, commissioning, handover, defects management, and post-completion reviews while capturing lessons learned to drive continuous improvement across the project portfolio.

General Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience delivering large-scale capital projects or development programmes in hospitality, real estate, construction, or related industries.
  • Strong expertise in project delivery, governance, risk management, commercial oversight, and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary teams and manage senior executive, operational, and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Strategic mindset with strong execution capabilities, balancing long-term business objectives with successful project delivery.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
