About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Major Engineering Project Director to lead the end‑to‑end execution of a large, strategic engineering project in Mexico. This senior leader will oversee all engineering aspects of the project, including cost, schedule, safety, permitting, installation, and technical readiness.

This role requires a highly experienced engineering leader with a track record of delivering major capital investment projects in complex, multinational environments. You will guide both internal and external engineering teams, ensure flawless execution, collaborate cross‑functionally, and engage with senior leadership and external authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end engineering execution for a major manufacturing project, ensuring delivery against cost, schedule, quality, safety, and operational readiness targets.
  • Manage and develop internal and external engineering teams, fostering a high‑performance, safety‑driven culture.
  • Build and lead project engineering governance, including scope definition, estimating, scheduling, and stage‑gate documentation.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, food safety, environmental, and permitting requirements.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Quality, SHE, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and global engineering teams.
  • Engage with external stakeholders such as permitting authorities, utilities, and governmental bodies.
  • Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership and ensure strong stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related).
  • 12+ years of engineering experience in food processing, CPG, or similar industrial environments.
  • Proven track record leading major capital investment projects from early phases through start‑up.
  • Strong background in cost and schedule management, including change control.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and working with external contractors.
  • Advanced English and fluent Spanish.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, SAP, and engineering software.
  • Strong understanding of operational excellence methodologies (TPM, Stage‑Gate, IM, WCM).
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross‑cultural collaboration skills.
