Grade/Class: Grade H, Exempt, PSA Eligible

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Regional Director, Los Angeles, the Director, Program and Operations serves as a strategic advisor and partner and is responsible for a broad range of strategic business initiatives, from development to successful execution, including decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation. This role supervises project teams related to organizational strategy for ADL Regions in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Orange County and San Diego. The Director is expected to convene multiple stakeholders, expand bandwidth and resources, and help drive organizational decisions that positively influence ADL Southern California’s strategic direction. 

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Support and lead Southern California operational initiatives centered on achieving results related to regional and divisional operations, team development, operational excellence, financial outcomes, and growth and to ensure regions are operating at maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee various aspects of daily logistics of ADL operations in Southern California through collaboration with Southern California leadership, performing an array of responsibilities both from a strategic and tactical perspective.
  • Provide leadership and support for the development and execution of both long-term vision and short-term strategies.
  • Provide regional staff with recommendations and consultation to enhance teamwork and impact across all areas of regional operations.
  • Assess issues that serve as barriers to the success and operation of ADL Southern California, and work to ensure operations are at maximum effectiveness. 
  • Gather cross-functional support that fosters long-term partnerships that are critical to organizational success; influence others to achieve outcomes. 
  • Review, design, and execute on improvements and optimized efficiency to current processes through research, benchmarking, and data analysis to enable recommendations for streamlining processes and systems. 
  • Maintain visibility internally across the organization and externally in the community to foster alignment towards strategic goals.

Secondary:

  • Ensure data and information is analyzed, prepared, accurate, and easy to understand for leadership decision-making; offer perspective and guidance when needed. 
  • Identify areas where ADL Southern California should direct focus to facilitate effective decision making; prioritize critical issues, identifying metrics for success, and consistently monitor to evaluate progress.
  • Serve as a trusted partner, convener, implementer, and integrator to advance work across the organization and support key cross-departmental projects.

Work Experience:

  • The ideal candidate has significant years’ experience in for-profit or non-profit in a strategic management role with demonstrable experience in planning/leading strategic initiatives, data analysis, budget management and proven experience in organizing and directing wide-ranging or cross-functional areas. 
  • Experience with senior level leadership a plus.
  • Knowledge of and appreciation for the Jewish community, its customs and practices, preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • MA in non-profit management business or related field a plus.

Work Environment:

  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role will require 3 days/week in the office.

Compensation:

  • This position has a salary range of $120,000 to $130,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in Los Angeles, California.
