This role leads the Product Proposition Team for Life & Savings products to drive the entire product development cycle for achieving the Company's business strategy, included but not limited to research on market trends/clients' needs, product innovation/design, product implementation and management as well as product promotion. The role also leads the Product Strategy team to drive the end-to-end product & campaign strategy, R&D, and business projects to support the Company’s growth objectives. The role integrates data analytics, market intelligence, and actuarial insights to develop differentiated product propositions, strengthen campaign effectiveness, and enhance overall business performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Product Proposition and Development

  • Closely monitor updates and changes in HK insurance market, including but not limited to industry trend, competitor movements, market competitive analysis, market opportunities and threats, specific client segment to identify the potential business opportunity. Analyze and draw conclusions from research undertaken to improve the SLHK’s product positioning in the fast -changing market situation.
  • Drive target client research to constantly identify gap in SLHK’s product to enhance Sun Life’s clients’ impact.
  • Drive product design and innovation according to research result and business needs to help achieving company’s business target
  • Proactively manage the product approval process to get relevant stakeholders’ buy-in of the product proposition including senior management, regional office and distribution teams.
  • Steer discussion with distribution teams to ensure product’s marketability, form sales stories, seek market’s feedback on the products and react with potential solutions to support business growth opportunity across all channels
  • Lead and deliver product-related initiatives by adopting a disciplined project management approach and follow the product development operating guideline.
  • Act as product SME to contribute in various projects such as new regulation implementation, operation enhancements, business development initiatives, etc.

Product & Campaign Strategy

  • Provide inputs to construct a forward-looking product strategy and roadmap for SLHK to strengthen and spearhead our ambition to achieve the business targets.
  • Drive campaign design & implementation, client value propositions, and go-to-market strategies through data analytics and market intelligence
  • Drive R&D of new product ideas to enhance innovation pipeline and product diversification
  • Integrate actuarial, pricing, and business insights to ensure commercially viable and financially sound product strategies
  • Drive strategic initiatives, ad-hoc projects, and business transformation efforts to support company growth

Channel Communication

  • Represent product team to promote the products to all channels with respect to product proposition, key selling points, market competitiveness, administration rules, sales support, and campaign offers etc.

People Management

  • Coach and develop team members to advance their knowledge and improve the overall capabilities and core competence of the team.


Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Business, Finance or related disciplines

• 12+ years of experience in product strategy, actuarial, pricing, or insurance product development

• Strong leadership experience with track record in managing multi-functional teams

• Deep understanding of insurance products, market dynamics, and customer behavior

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking capability with experience leveraging data for decision-making

• Proven experience in product innovation, campaign strategy, and value proposition development

• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior management
