As GE Appliances’ Director, Product Management – Chillers, you’ll lead execution of product management priorities for the Chiller product portfolio in alignment with direction set by the Commercial ME Leader and broader business objectives. This role contributes to Chiller product strategy by evaluating market insights, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and product performance, while managing approved roadmap priorities, lifecycle activities, launch readiness, and commercialization support from concept through post-commercialization follow-up. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional leadership with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Commercial, Sales, Technical, and Quality teams, as well as a strong understanding of HVAC industry dynamics, product development processes, and go-to-market execution. How You'll Create Possibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage execution of the Chiller product portfolio strategy in alignment with direction set by the Senior Director and broader business growth objectives.
- Support development of strategic priorities and product recommendations by applying HVAC and Chiller market knowledge, competitive insights, and customer feedback.
- Manage inputs, updates, and execution plans for the Chiller product roadmap and technical specification priorities in close collaboration with Engineering.
- Lead assigned product lifecycle management activities for Chiller products, including roadmap execution, launch readiness, post-commercialization tracking, product transitions, and continuous improvement actions, in alignment with approved product strategy.
- Manage cross-functional New Product Introduction activities for assigned Chiller programs, coordinating Engineering, Commercial, Sales, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations stakeholders from concept through production readiness.
- Partner with Commercial teams to translate market insights into actionable product plans and coordinate development of product collateral, including spec sheets, installation and service manuals, launch materials, and selling tools.
- Support pricing analysis, sales application tools, and product competitiveness reviews by providing market, customer, and product performance inputs.
- Coordinate lifecycle management activities related to product availability, inventory optimization, phase-in/phase-out planning, and smooth product transitions.
- Support product positioning and commercialization plans by analyzing competitive market data, customer needs, channel dynamics, and feedback from Sales and Technical teams.
- Collaborate with Sales and Technical teams to develop and deliver training for distributors and contractors on installation, application, troubleshooting, and service.
- Support distribution strategy execution in partnership with Sales and represent the Chiller product line in customer, channel, and internal meetings.
- Represent the Chiller portfolio at national and regional trade shows, including AHR, IBS, HARDI, and ACCA, to support customer engagement, market feedback gathering, and brand awareness.
- Provide field support to address customer needs, gather product insights, identify recurring issues, and recommend improvement actions.
- Coordinate daily business operations across functions, including logistics follow-up, customer onboarding requirements, issue resolution, and monitoring of profitability and serviceability inputs.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and coordinate product change activity to improve product performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

- Strategic Management - Ability to manage and implement key Chiller product priorities that support broader business and functional goals, translating direction from the Senior Director into actionable product plans, roadmap execution activities, market actions, and cross-functional workstreams.
- Operational Planning - Ability to develop and manage short- to mid-term execution plans for assigned Chiller product initiatives, including launch readiness, lifecycle transitions, product availability, training coordination, customer onboarding needs, and post-commercialization follow-up.
- Complex Problem-Solving - Ability to analyze difficult and often complex Chiller product, market, customer, channel, quality, application, and service-related issues; synthesize input from internal and external stakeholders; and recommend practical actions that improve product performance, competitiveness, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Influential Leadership - Ability to influence decisions and alignment across functions by presenting product insights, competitive analysis, customer feedback, lifecycle risks, and recommended actions to functional leaders, cross-functional partners, sales teams, distributors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Execution Management - Ability to manage the execution of product lifecycle, NPI, commercialization, field support, and product change activities for Chiller products, ensuring workstreams remain aligned to approved strategy, performance standards, regulatory requirements, industry certifications, and business priorities.
- HVAC and Chiller Product Knowledge - Ability to apply Chiller product, HVAC system, application, installation, troubleshooting, service, and regulatory knowledge to support product planning, technical specification inputs, customer conversations, distributor and contractor training, and continuous improvement activities.
- Product Commercialization and Market Analysis - Ability to evaluate competitive market data, customer needs, channel dynamics, pricing inputs, product performance trends, and sales feedback to support product positioning, commercialization planning, sales enablement tools, and frontline selling effectiveness.
- Product Documentation and Sales Enablement - Ability to coordinate development and maintenance of product collateral, including specification sheets, installation and service manuals, launch materials, sales application tools, and distributor/contractor training content, ensuring information is accurate, practical, and aligned to product strategy.
- Cross-Functional Communication - Ability to communicate technical and commercial product information clearly to varied audiences, including Engineering, Commercial, Sales, Technical Service, Quality, distributors, contractors, customers, and trade-show participants, adapting the message to the audience and business need.
Educational and Experiential Background
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in a technical or business discipline
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, or related business function(s)
- Practical, hands-on experience in the North American chiller industry
- Demonstrated success launching commercial or industrial HVAC/chiller products into market
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex product development programs
Preferred Education/Experience
- Prior P&L ownership and lifecycle leadership of a product or portfolio
- Experience in business planning and competitive market analysis
Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
- Working conditions are typical for an office environment.
- Up to 20% ongoing travel, both domestic and international.
