VIAVI Solutions is seeking a high-caliber Product Line Manager (PLM) to lead the AI Networking portfolio within the TestCenter division. This is a strategic, customer-facing role at the intersection of product vision, go-to-market execution, and deep technical expertise in high-speed Ethernet and AI fabric technologies.
The PLM will be the single point of accountability for defining, driving, and delivering VIAVI TestCenter’s AI test and validation solutions — spanning 800GE/1.6T Ethernet, RDMA-based AI transport (RoCEv2), and next-generation AI cluster interconnect architectures. You will shape the roadmap in direct response to market trends including Scale-Out, Scale-Up, and Scale-Across, ensuring VIAVI remains the preferred test solution for hyperscalers, network equipment manufacturers, and AI infrastructure vendors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Own the end-to-end product roadmap for TestCenter's AI networking portfolio

• Develop multi-year roadmap aligned to hyperscaler, NEM, and AI infrastructure vendor needs

• Define and prioritize feature requirements based on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback

• Identify white-space opportunities across AI fabric test coverage including UALink, OCP ESUN, and NVLink validation

• Translate Scale-Out, Scale-Up, and Scale-Across AI cluster trends into actionable product initiatives

• Maintain roadmap versioning and communicate transparently across R&D, Sales, and Marketing

Technical Leadership & Customer Engagement

• Serve as the primary technical and product voice to Tier-1 customers — hyperscalers, NEPs, and AI chip vendors

• Provide technical guidance on 800GE and 1.6T test methodologies for AI

• Lead customer discovery calls and executive briefings

• Act as trusted advisor to customers on AI traffic emulation, congestion control validation, and fabric characterization

• Develop expertise in RoCEv2, DCQCN, RDMA QP types, and lossless Ethernet requirements for AI transport

• Maintain active feedback loops with field sales engineers and application engineers

Go-To-Market & Cross-Functional Execution

• Lead GTM strategy for new AI portfolio releases including positioning, pricing, and launch planning

• Drive sales enablement programs to equip the global sales force with deep product knowledge

• Partner with Marketing to develop compelling messaging, collateral, competitive battle cards, and thought leadership content

• Collaborate closely with R&D to define acceptance criteria, review sprint deliverables, and manage release milestones

• Represent VIAVI at key industry events, trade shows, and standards forums

Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

• Monitor and analyze competitive dynamics from Spirent, Keysight/Ixia, and emerging players in AI test

• Identify and assess new market opportunities emerging from GPU cluster scaling requirements

• Track AI networking ecosystem developments: NVLink, xGMI/Infinity Fabric, UALink, and OCP ESUN

• Provide quarterly market analysis reports to senior leadership and field teams

• Congestion & QoS
  • PFC, ECN, DCQCN; priority flow control; traffic shaping for AI workloads
• Product Management
  • Roadmap tools (Aha!, Jira); PRDs; market sizing; pricing models; launch planning

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Qualifications

Required

• 15+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or technical pre-sales roles within networking or test & measurement
• Demonstrable expertise in high-speed Ethernet (400GE, 800GE, or 1.6T) architecture, testing, and deployment
• Hands-on or deep architectural understanding of RDMA networking, specifically RoCEv2 and AI transport requirements
• Clear articulation of AI cluster scaling models: Scale-Out GPU fabrics, Scale-Up interconnects, and Scale-Across WAN/DCI designs
• Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to engage from IC-level engineers to C-suite stakeholders
• Proven ability to drive cross-functional programs across Engineering, Sales, and Marketing in a matrixed organization
• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field

Preferred

• Prior experience at network test & measurement vendors (VIAVI, Spirent, Keysight/Ixia) or hyperscaler networking teams
• Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure vendors (NVIDIA, Broadcom, Marvell, Arista, Cisco) and their validation requirements
• Experience with Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC), IEEE 802.3, or other standards bodies
• Knowledge of GPU cluster orchestration and AI training/inference workload characteristics (GPT, diffusion, MoE models)
• MBA or equivalent strategic business experience

What Success Looks Like

In your first 6 months, you will be expected to:

• Deliver a comprehensive AI networking roadmap covering FY2027 and beyond, with clear customer validation and business case
• Complete discovery engagements with at least 5 Tier-1 customers to validate TestCenter AI portfolio fit
• Produce competitive positioning documentation versus Spirent and Keysight for the AI test use case
• Launch at least one AI-focused GTM campaign in partnership with Marketing and Field Sales
• Define a structured RoCEv2 / 800GE test methodology framework for internal R&D and customer-facing use
