Director Procurement (m/f/d)
Thales in Germany is part of an internationally leading technology group in the defence and security, aerospace as well as cyber security and digital identity markets.
Your mission as Director Procurement
Develop and execute the procurement strategy for Germany in alignment with business objectives and global procurement standards
Lead strategic sourcing activities, supplier negotiations, and contract execution to deliver cost, quality, and performance targets
Manage and develop the local procurement team, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and high performance across all procurement activities
Partner with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver value-driven procurement solutions
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate procurement policies while maintaining robust supplier governance
Drive continuous improvement by optimizing procurement processes, harmonizing tools, and leveraging digital solutions to increase efficiency
Monitor procurement performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement initiatives that support sustainable business growth
We are looking forward to:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or Economics (Master's degree preferred) with 10+ years of procurement experience in a multinational, project- and product-based environment
Proven leadership experience with strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and supplier relationship skills
Solid understanding of strategic sourcing, procurement processes, contract management, and compliance requirements
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex business challenges independently
Fluent in English and German, with excellent communication skills and willingness to travel internationally (up to 15%)
