Job Description

The Role
We are seeking a strategic, execution-focused Director of Portfolio Construction Solutions Product Manager to define and deliver product vision and strategy, shape and execute roadmaps, manage day-to-day operations, and serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for our portfolio construction solutions. This role will drive adoption, commercialization, and innovation while enhancing advisor experiences and meeting growing market demand. Success requires close collaboration with investment, distribution, operations, marketing, and technology teams to ensure alignment and deliver impactful solutions that maximize WAMS and FIWA intellectual capital and strengthen Fidelity’s competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities include:
Product Vision & Strategy

  • Develop and prioritize product roadmaps for Model Portfolios, Portfolio Construction Tools, and Investment Office capabilities.
  • Define and implement strategic growth initiatives for investment solutions aligned with market opportunities and advisor needs.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy and identify opportunities to scale and optimize core functions.
  • Translate advisor and business needs into actionable product plans.

Execution & Delivery

  • Provide ongoing product support including project management, intake request management, backlog prioritization, and ad hoc support for client and distribution needs.
  • Oversee development and acceptance of new features and enhancements across platforms.
  • Ensure alignment of future business needs with technology capabilities and resolve cross-domain dependencies.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a subject matter expert and advocate for portfolio construction solutions capabilities in strategic forums and leadership discussions.
  • Partner with investment teams, distribution, marketing, operations, and technology to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, compliance, and audit to ensure governance and controls.
  • Capture voice of client through advisor engagement and user interviews to inform product priorities.

Commercialization & Analytics

  • Drive adoption and client impact through effective positioning and marketing strategies.
  • Create strategic business plans, including roadmaps and operating models, and evaluate new business opportunities for growth.
  • Partner with data analytics and reporting teams to create proof points used to quantify success of capabilities.

Business Management

  • Develop and monitor KPIs, performance metrics, and analytics to support budgeting and multi-year planning.
  • Participate in governance committee engagement, operational planning, and oversight of key capabilities.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, ideally in product management, product strategy, managed accounts, or investment-related roles.
  • Strong investment acumen with deep knowledge of financial markets, investment products, portfolio construction, and manager research.
  • Proven success managing product roadmaps and driving cross-functional development.
  • Experience engaging with intermediaries (BDs/RIAs) and understanding advisor needs.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to synthesize market trends, competitive insights, and client requirements into actionable strategies.
  • Collaborative mindset with interpersonal skills to work across diverse teams and functions.
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and a proactive problem-solving mindset with ability to navigate competing priorities and technical constraints.

The Team

The Portfolio Construction Solutions product management team is responsible for driving the strategy, development, and delivery of Fidelity Wealth Advisory Managed Solutions (WAMs) integrated investment solutions, including Model Portfolios, Portfolio Construction Tools & Delivery, and FIWA Investment Office capabilities. Positioned at the intersection of product management, investments, technology, distribution, and the advisor experience, the team ensures these capabilities evolve to meet market demands, enhance advisor engagement, and deliver superior client outcomes. By aligning product vision with execution, the team works with stakeholders to enable scalable portfolio construction solutions, actionable investment insights, and differentiated intellectual capital that reinforces WAMs and FIWA value propositions across platforms and channels.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$222,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
