Job Description

Provide vision, leadership, planning, management and development of all resources for the Pensacola Factory Operations, including initial site set-up and project management, strategy development, implementation and execution ensuring that Company goals are met or exceeded. Plan, guide, direct and control Operations. Ensure a safe working environment and talent pipeline to achieve targeted production volumes and efficiency parameters while complying with applicable statutory, legal and commercial guidelines. Deliver innovative operational excellence that supports Company and Corporate objectives. Lead and develop the team to ensure excellent customer service with a focus on continuous improvement, cost effectiveness and superior product quality.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Set the overall direction of operations and resource management through strategic evaluation and planning to establish and achieve production plant goals and objectives in keeping with Corporate and local policies and procedures.
  • Develop short-term and long-range strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals to achieve plant objectives.
  • Implement cost and quality improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and kaizen tools (waste, labor, utilization, inventory control, etc.).
  • Develop a safety-focused work environment by promoting safety training, adhering to safety regulations and environmental compliance, with a goal of zero accidents per year; maintain proper storage, handling, training and disposal of all chemicals used in the plant.
  • Encourage the emergence and representation of GEV values and expected behaviors; implement and model organizational culture.
  • Establish and maintain effective and open communications with plant management, operations personnel and related local and global functions; report initiatives to organizational leadership.
  • Develop and implement improved processes and management methods to ensure effective utilization of manpower, equipment and materials to generate higher return on investment.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes produce high-quality products consistent with manufacturing specifications on a predetermined schedule and at minimum cost.
  • Implement financial objectives to maintain production costs within an approved budget plan while maintaining a competitive posture.
  • Manage all operations with a strong customer focus.
  • Direct maintenance of buildings, grounds, machinery and equipment and promote good housekeeping.
  • Provide leadership with reports and feedback on operations, costs, budget information and general plant activities.
  • Prepare a comprehensive action plan annually (or more frequently as required) detailing activities and improvements planned for the forthcoming period.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with other business segments of the Company.
  • Consult with outside consultants, vendors, agents, contractors and other professionals on matters affecting plant planning and operations.
  • Interface with community organizations to establish and maintain good public relations.
  • Interface with local government and maintain compliance with local laws.
  • Execute operational implementation of the business strategy and guidance approved by the directors/management team.
  • Achieve and/or maintain ISO and other relevant certifications as required.
  • Ensure statutory, legal, safety and financial compliance.
  • Participate in mandatory EHS trainings and events; follow EHS rules and reinforce adherence across the organization.
  • Immediately report incidents and near misses; shut down operations if a life-threatening or serious-injury risk is present.
  • Approve financial and legal processes in accordance with signature policy and delegated authority.
  • Validate and sign controllership certificates, as required.
  • Exercise employer and signatory rights, as applicable.
  • After appropriate GEV media training, represent the Company to the media.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in manufacturing, engineering, operations, or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in operations or management in a multicultural environment.
  • Relevant supply chain management experience.
  • Knowledge of cost drivers and market conditions; understanding of technical specifications, product performance requirements, logistics processes and end-user expectations.
  • Fundamental understanding of civil and labor law.
  • Experience working with multi-product teams.
  • ERP knowledge.
  • Excellent command of English (written and oral).

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $192,000 and $288,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
