Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director Planning & Scheduling (Syteline/CSI) based in Canada.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced planning and scheduling professional to shape manufacturing planning across a growing, global organization. You will own the Sales & Operations Planning process and help align demand, supply, inventory, and production capacity. Working closely with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and executive leadership, you will influence decisions that directly impact operational performance. The role combines strategic ownership with hands-on problem solving within Infor CloudSuite Industrial/Syteline. You will establish planning standards, optimize inventory and scheduling practices, and resolve complex supply and capacity challenges. As the senior subject-matter expert, you will also drive continuous improvement and help strengthen planning maturity across the organization.

Accountabilities

  • Own and lead the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (SIOP) process, coordinating stakeholders across Sales, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and executive leadership to balance demand and supply.
  • Analyze forecasts, inventory levels, production capacity, and customer commitments to support effective planning decisions across the product portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain master production schedules aligned with business objectives, manufacturing capabilities, and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor SIOP performance indicators, including forecast accuracy, safety stock levels, inventory health, and on-time delivery.
  • Review safety stock requirements across SKUs and establish appropriate targets based on demand volatility, lead-time variability, and service-level objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce excess inventory while maintaining appropriate customer service levels and conduct regular inventory adequacy reviews.
  • Manage lead-time reviews for raw materials, components, and finished goods, ensuring planning parameters remain accurate and current within Syteline.
  • Monitor vendor and manufacturing performance against established lead-time standards and collaborate with Procurement on corrective actions when variances arise.
  • Troubleshoot planning exceptions involving production bottlenecks, material shortages, capacity constraints, scheduling conflicts, and system discrepancies.
  • Monitor Syteline alerts and exception reports, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions with Operations, Production, and Procurement teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase planning accuracy, improve system utilization, and strengthen manufacturing planning processes.
  • Serve as the senior authority on planning and scheduling, advising executive leadership on capacity strategy, planning risks, and process maturity.
  • Establish and document planning processes, standards, and best practices while mentoring and developing other planning professionals.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • At least 7 years of progressive experience as a Master Scheduler or in a comparable senior planning and scheduling role within manufacturing, supply chain, or operations.
    • Hands-on experience with Infor CloudSuite Industrial/Syteline, including strong knowledge of its planning, scheduling, and MRP functionality.
    • Strong understanding of demand forecasting, inventory management, master production scheduling, and S&OP/SIOP processes.
    • Practical knowledge of lead-time management, safety stock calculations, production scheduling, and manufacturing workflows.
    • Experience in medical device, biopharmaceutical, life sciences, or another FDA/ISO-regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
    • Strong ERP/MRP aptitude with the ability to understand complex manufacturing processes and translate operational needs into effective planning solutions.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and data analysis.
    • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
    • Highly self-directed, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership and influencing decisions at the executive level without direct authority.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across cross-functional teams.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive salary of up to $175,000
      • Full-time employment opportunity.
      • Remote work arrangement.
      • Opportunity to take ownership of enterprise-level planning and scheduling processes.
      • High-visibility role with direct interaction with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
      • Opportunity to influence manufacturing strategy, inventory optimization, and operational performance.
      • Professional growth through exposure to advanced ERP, MRP, SIOP, and manufacturing planning initiatives.
