Job Description

The Director of Pharmacy Education and Academic Affairs is responsible for pharmacy education and training programs. This individual is a recognized pharmacy department leader and provides strong, visible, values driven leadership and advocacy for pharmacy education. Provides leadership, oversight and direction of pharmacy staff development and educational activities; pharmacy student experiential training programs including internships and advanced pharmacy practice experiences; post-graduate residency training programs; and new employee orientation and staff competency training. Ensures continued availability and provision of ACPE continuing pharmacy education. Assures all quality, legal, regulatory and accreditation standards are met or exceeded. Ensures incorporation, alignment with and support of departmental and institutional strategic vision, direction and priorities. Actively promotes, facilitates and participates in educational activities and promotes the generation of new knowledge relevant to the practice of Pharmacy.

This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy degree (or Pharmacy BS degree if graduated before 2000). Completion of an accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency and a minimum of 1 year applicable pharmacy experience; or completion of an accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency and a minimum of 3 years applicable pharmacy experience; or a minimum of 5 years applicable pharmacy experience. Applicable experience includes providing, developing, implementing and overseeing progressive pharmacy education and/or proven history of providing progress pharmacy education and leadership as a pharmacist.

Other Qualifications: Proven commitment to pharmacy education. Strong commitment and evidence of achieving excellence. Project management and coordination skills. Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet and data base applications. Proven history of successfully working in a team environment. Communicates effectively. Evidence of alignment with Mayo Clinic values. Requirements must be met by employment start date.

Preferred Qualifications: Participation in pharmacy practice research. Participation in scholarly activities including publication and scientific meeting presentations. Supervisory experience. Board Certification by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties preferred

License: License to practice Pharmacy in the state he/she is located.
