Position Responsibilities:

-• Provide strategic oversight and execution of end-to-end payroll operations for a multi-state workforce, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure full adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax laws, wage and hour requirements, and reporting mandates.
• Direct the administration of complex payroll components, including benefit deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory best practices.
• Manage and enhance vendor relationships, including oversight of third-party payroll service providers to optimize service delivery and compliance.
• Serve as a contributory member for UKG (HRIS), overseeing all payroll and tax-related updates and driving timely implementation of compliance measures.
• Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal, Tax, and HR Compliance teams to support audits, regulatory filings, and complex inquiries.
• Review, reconcile, and approve multi-jurisdictional payroll tax filings across 24 states and numerous localities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
• Additional duties, as required.

Position Requirements:


• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive payroll experience, including 5+ years in a leadership or team management capacity.
• Deep expertise in payroll operations and regulatory compliance, with demonstrated success managing payroll in a multi-state, high-complexity environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to employee service and cross-functional collaboration.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of leading strategic initiatives and process improvements.
• Meticulous attention to detail, with the agility to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
• Proficiency in UKG and UKG UTA preferred; experience managing HRIS payroll systems strongly desired.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation strongly preferred.
