Job Description

We are seeking an outstanding leader to help shape an innovative, sustainable and ambitious future for Wiltshire, aligned to Our Wiltshire Plan.

The Director of Organisational Strategy and Digital is a new senior leadership role with real scope to shape how we work across the council in a more joined up way. You will lead how we plan, align and modernise the organisation to deliver to our communities.

You will play a central part in developing and delivering our long-term organisational strategy, helping to take us from where we are now to where we want to be over the coming years. This will include bringing together key areas such as HR and OD, transformation, and digital, we will take a more integrated approach to shaping our workforce, modernising services, and ensuring we are a high performing and financially sustainable council.

A key focus will be ensuring that our approach is coordinated and practical, working closely with corporate directors to translate strategy into delivery. You will lead the development of frameworks that support efficiencies, commercial thinking, and improved customer experience, alongside the effective use of data, digital and emerging technologies.

You will provide visible and credible leadership, building trust across the organisation and supporting teams through change. You will help create clarity, strengthen performance, and support a culture that is open, accountable, and focused on outcomes.

We are looking for a strategic and adaptable leader who is comfortable working across a broad and complex portfolio. You will bring strong judgement, political awareness, and the ability to prioritise effectively, alongside a proven track record of delivering meaningful change.

This is a role where you can shape how the organisation works as a whole, supporting better outcomes for our communities.
