THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a member of the regional shared service leadership team, lead the establishment and growth of the regional shared service operations. Direct the day to day shared service Order to Cash (OTC)) operations for the region across captive and outsourced teams, ensuring accurate and timely month end close and corporate reporting outcomes with effective and efficient performance measurement and compliance support. Work with business stakeholders to drive robust credit, collections and past due management of the Receivables portfolio to improve cash flow and working capital.

The Director will lead and continue to build the shared service captive and outsourced shared services OTC organization for the region. . Responsibilities include managing the scope, resources, cost, schedule, quality and risk the operation and projects ensuring effective and efficient service delivery with accurate and timely performance measurement and compliance support. Provide project leadership and key stakeholders with strategy, business case, alternative support approaches, project and communication plans to aggressively move forward in migrating transactional related financial and collection activities to the team to support Abbott’s worldwide shared services and COE support solution. Coordinate project financial matters with geographic and HQ / functional / divisional stakeholder leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:

  • Direct the day to day shared service OTC operations for the region across captive and outsourced teams, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services and accurate and timely month end close and corporate reporting outcomes.

  • Serve as the senior escalation point to resolve OTC service delivery issues for the region and direct resolution of issues across retained, captive and outsourced teams

  • Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities to eliminate exceptions and deliver to committed service levels.

  • Coach direct reports and 3rd party service provider leads to address more complex issues/ exceptions

  • Manage the delivery of service by outsource partners in line with the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Promote understanding of the approved process standards:

  • Participate in the OTC Process Council

  • Provide escalation support to the OTC GPM for process issues which require changes to current approved standards.

  • Partner with IT in the execution of applicable OTC process harmonization and business systems specific to the region.

  • Partner with shared services leadership to sustain service operations and establish robust stakeholder management communications and feedback mechanisms to assure effective collaboration.

  • Serve on the Customer Council to build relationships and ensure finance operations are aligned with the business objectives.

  • Direct OTC service management activities to meet legal entity, division, regional, and corporate commitments.

  • Support the development and sustainment of service agreements with internal customer organizations.

Ensure integrity of internal controls, in partnership with the compliance team:

  • Direct statutory compliance and management of internal and external audits for the region.

  • Provide oversight and support for response to and remediation of audit findings as required.

  • Provide oversight to assure compliance with tax and fiscal requirement

Management of the OTC team to ensure resource and competency needs are aligned with current and future shared service organizational requirements. Annual reviews and competency based development plans

  • Ensure OTC teams receive the requisite training and development to deliver effectively in their roles

  • Proactive organizational management to ensure development of appropriate competencies and resource availability to meet the changing shared service operation’s needs.

  • Guides project team, functions, and other stakeholders in developing and managing the overall approach for OTC shared services implementation ensuring all other related projects are in alignment with emphasis on a highly effective and efficient standardized platform utilizing global best practices.

  • Partner with Global Process Owner and EMEA and APAC regional OTC shared services leadership to drive a standard OTC operating model across regional captive and outsourced teams through automation and continuous improvement and set global standards.

  • Identify findings and develop recommendations needed to make significant operational decisions which affect efficiency and effectiveness of transactional environment.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures, including internal and external audit management

  • Coach and develop direct reports and 3rd party service provider leads to address more complex/issues exceptions/continuous improvement initiatives/leadership skills.

  • Manage the delivery of service by outsource partners in line with the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA).

  • Prepares executive and steering committee communications, as required.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred

  • Statistics or economics or local country equivalent, considered

  • 10-15 years Finance and Accounting industry experience in a complex global organization

  • 8+ years shared services experience, 2-3 of those years across multiple lines of business (e.g. Divisions) and geographies

  • 3-5 years public accounting or equivalent experience,

  • Extensive process excellence experience required

  • 3-5 years project management and program implementation skills required

  • SAP or other ERP experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA

  • Certifications: CPA or Chartered Accountant or equivalent experience.

  • Experience managing 3rd party service providers/ outsourcers

  • Other non-SAP ERP experience a plus

  • Language Skills: English

The base pay for this position is

$149,300.00 – $298,700.00
