Job Description

Hilton is seeking a strategic and influential leader to join our Regional Operations team as Director, Operations Support – Japan, Korea & Micronesia (JKM).

This role serves as a key member of the JKM Operations leadership team, partnering closely with the Area Vice President, General Managers, hotel owners, and regional functional leaders to drive operational excellence, business performance, strategic initiatives, and organizational capability across the portfolio.

The Director will lead and oversee priority operational projects, support the execution of regional growth and transformation strategies, and ensure alignment with Hilton's commercial objectives, brand standards, and guest experience expectations. Through effective stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration, the role will help accelerate performance, strengthen operational capabilities, and drive sustainable business results across the JKM region.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important, and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

Strategic Operations Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Area Vice President (AVP) on operational priorities, business performance, and strategic initiatives across Japan, Korea, & Micronesia.
  • Support the development and execution of regional operational strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, guest satisfaction, and team member engagement.
  • Identify operational opportunities and risks, providing recommendations and implementation plans to optimize portfolio performance.
  • Lead special projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of the AVP.

Portfolio Performance & Operational Excellence

  • Partner with General Managers and hotel leadership teams to improve operational effectiveness and execution of Hilton's standards and priorities.
  • Monitor performance trends across the portfolio and coordinate action plans to address key business challenges.
  • Facilitate operational reviews, performance discussions, and follow-up actions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Champion best practice sharing and operational consistency across the region.

Owner & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with hotel ownership groups, management teams, and regional stakeholders.
  • Represent JKM Operations in owner meetings, business reviews, and strategic discussions where appropriate.
  • Support alignment between ownership priorities and Hilton's operational objectives.
  • Influence without direct authority across a complex matrix organization.

Transformation & Project Leadership

  • Lead the planning and execution of high-impact regional initiatives, including operational transformation, process improvement, capability-building programs, and strategic projects.
  • Ensure initiatives are effectively implemented, measured, and sustained across the JKM region.
  • Drive project governance, stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation, and change management efforts.
  • Collaborate with regional and global partners to support enterprise-wide initiatives.

Procurement & Strategic Partnerships

  • Partner with Procurement and relevant functional teams to support strategic supplier relationships, regional sourcing initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
  • Evaluate opportunities to drive value, consistency, and quality across the JKM portfolio.
  • Support contract review and implementation of approved operational partnerships and programs.

Talent Development & Capability Building

  • Champion operational learning and development initiatives across the region.
  • Lead deployment of key operational training programs and capability-building frameworks.
  • Mentor General Managers, Directors of Operations, and emerging operational leaders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.

WHY YOU’LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive hospitality operations experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Experience as a General Manager, Director of Operations, Regional Operations leader, or comparable corporate operations role, supporting multi-property or regional hotel operations.
  • Experience working with hotel owners and asset management groups.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret operational and financial performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders, owners, and hotel leadership teams.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outstanding presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Japanese, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to travel within the region as required.
