The Director of Operations for WLS is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Production group, including but not limited to the manufacture of new, refurbished and upgrade components and assemblies. This role is also responsible for strategic leadership of the Mechanical Engineering team. This Senior Leadership position is responsible for leading multiple teams and facilitating successful outcomes for our employees and customers.

  • Manage the Production group to ensure safety, quality and efficient operations
  • Manage the Mechanical Engineering group with respect to all activities including administrative and project related
  • Provide leadership through garnering the respect of the engineering team as well as cross-functional peers
  • Responsible for the engineering role in the quoting and conceptualization process required to support the sales team
  • Drive excellent documentation practices
  • Responsible for periodic reporting of project status to cross-functional and upper management
  • Drive the concept and detailed design efforts from the customer specifications and deliver the resulting product on time and within budget
  • Interface with customers during visits, FATs, etc. and project a professional and positive image on behalf of the company
  • Create a culture of pride in products, company and facilities. Ensure facility is kept clean and presentable
  • General management of group resources including hiring, terminating, reviews, etc.
  • Creating and managing to a budget

Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000

If this sounds like you, we want to connect!

  • BSME/BSEE or similar degree
  • 15+ years of overall experience in operations and/or engineering roles in a similar industry with increasing levels of responsibility
  • 5+ years of project or management responsibility
  • Solid knowledge of equipment of the type that we produce. Good general automation controls and mechanical design knowledge, as it pertains to manufacturing
  • Must be a solid ambassador for the company and project a professional image when interfacing with outside contacts such as customers and suppliers
  • Understanding of structured design processes
  • Excellent decision-making skills relative to the balance between time, cost and quality
  • Solid understanding of the validation process required for equipment
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Capable of displaying positive leadership traits that result in united teams
