Based in Perth, this is a leadership opportunity for a Director to help asset-intensive organisations improve performance, strengthen decision making and deliver sustainable business outcomes. You will work with executive leaders to diagnose operational challenges, redesign operating models and ways of working, and embed change that create measurable value. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, transformation and performance improvement.

What will your typical day look like?

As a Director in our Operational Excellence practice, you will lead engagements that help clients improve operational performance and realise greater value from their assets, people and investments. You will work with senior executives and operational leaders to solve complex challenges including rising operating costs, productivity and reliability challenges, governance inefficiencies, and sustaining performance improvements once major transformation programs move to business-as-usual operations.

Working closely with executive leaders across energy, mining and infrastructure, you will help clients solve some of their most pressing operational challenges. Whether it's improving productivity, strengthening reliability, simplifying decision-making, reducing costs or delivering organisation-wide transformation, you'll help organisations perform better, faster and smarter.

Your work may involve:

• Leading operational diagnostics to identify opportunities to improve productivity, reliability, service, and cost performance.
• Designing and implementing operating models, organisational structures, governance frameworks and decision-making processes.
• Simplifying and redesigning end-to-end workflows to improve efficiency and reduce rework.
• Embedding performance management disciplines, reporting frameworks and operational review rhythms.
• Supporting clients to realise and sustain benefits from major transformation programs and operational improvements.
• Leveraging digital, data, automation and AI-enabled insights to improve operational decision-making and performance visibility.

Along the way, you will lead multidisciplinary teams across operations, strategy, analytics and transformation, bringing together the right capabilities to deliver measurable results. You will help grow strategic client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the practice. You will also play a key role in coaching and developing the next generation of leaders and building a high performing team culture.

About the team

Deloitte's Capital and Program Advisory team works with asset-intensive organisations to improve performance across the full asset lifecycle. In Perth, the team partners with leaders across energy, mining, infrastructure and industrial sectors on capital productivity, operating model redesign, asset performance, major program governance and AI-enabled performance insights. It's a team focused on helping clients navigate major investment cycles while improving efficiency, resilience and operational outcomes.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following experience:

• Significant consulting, operational improvement or transformation experience gained within a leading consulting firm or asset-intensive organisation.
• Deep expertise in operational excellence, operating model design, operational performance improvement or organisational transformation.
• Strong experience working with organisations across mining, energy, utilities, infrastructure or industrial sectors.
• A proven track record leading complex engagements and building trusted relationships with executive and operational leaders.
• Experience identifying, shaping and delivering measurable productivity, cost, reliability or operational performance outcomes.
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience growing client relationships, developing opportunities and leading proposals.
• Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence executives and translate complex issues into practical actions.
• A passion for coaching and developing high-performing teams and future leaders.
