Vanity Fair is seeking a Director of Video Content to join our dynamic, fast-paced team to lead strategic growth and operational support across video production. Reporting to Vanity Fair’s Executive Director of Global Video, the Director of Video Content will play a critical role in shaping how Vanity Fair’s physical production will operate efficiently, maximizing all opportunities and creating a new bar for excellence. The Director of Content will oversee a team of senior, creative, and coordinating producers in New York and Los Angeles who create video content for Vanity Fair’s social and YouTube channels and on emerging platforms.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead video production for Vanity Fair, ensuring all content meets brand standards, creative expectations, and performance goals

  • Manage and mentor a team of approximately 5 producers and partner closely with VF’s Senior Producer in LA to guide day-to-day production and execution

  • Collaborate with Programming and Development teams to shape video strategy, launch new series, and evolve existing formats

  • Oversee production logistics, including team assignments, shoot planning, and resource allocation

  • Generate new content ideas and formats optimized across social and YouTube

  • Lead hiring, resourcing, and talent development across staff and freelance teams, building a strong network of top-tier below-the-line crew and directors

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable, constructive feedback

  • Act as a key cross-functional partner to editorial, marketing, and audience development teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of experience in a fast-paced production environment

  • Minimum 3 years of directing and/or content leadership experience

  • Proven experience managing and developing staff and freelance teams

  • Track record of leading cross-functional teams and external partners

  • Strong understanding of production and post-production workflows

  • Experience managing high-volume content pipelines

The expected base salary range for this position is from $135,000-$155,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.

In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
