Role Description

The Director of Venue Operations is responsible for driving operational excellence and consistency across Live Nation’s venue portfolio in Ireland, comprising venues ranging from 1,000 to 14,000 capacity, including 3Arena, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, 3Olympia Theatre, Gaiety Theatre and Ambassador Theatre.

Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience within multi-site hospitality, entertainment or venue operations.
  • Leading and developing senior management teams.
  • Strong operational and financial management capability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional fan experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Develop standardised policies and procedures and ensure General Managers consistently implement them across all venues.
  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to Venue General Managers.
  • Lead operational reviews to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in systems, processes and service delivery.
  • Assist with new venue opening projects, including operational setup, team recruitment and coordination.

Financial and Commercial Performance

  • Support Venue General Managers in improving profitability through operational excellence.
  • Monitor operational and financial KPIs and support corrective actions where required.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to monitor venue performance and support delivery of financial objectives.

People Leadership

  • Partner with HR to deliver consistent management development and group training programmes across all venues.
  • Lead, coach and develop Venue General Managers and senior venue leaders.
  • Review organisational structures and develop succession plans for key operational roles.
  • Support recruitment, performance management and talent development.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Governance and Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, employment and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote consistent governance and operational compliance across the venue portfolio.
  • Act as the operational link between the CEO, Venue General Managers, central support teams and venue owners.
  • Work closely with Finance, HR and other head office functions to ensure aligned ways of working.

  • Consistent operational standards across all venues.
  • Successful implementation of standard operating procedures.
  • Improved labour efficiency and staffing effectiveness.
  • Achievement of venue financial and operational KPIs.
  • Strong succession pipelines and management capability.
  • Consistent training programmes across the venue portfolio.
  • High levels of compliance, employee engagement and fan satisfaction.
