About the Role

• Oversee Group-wide IT vendor performance management, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and service excellence.
• Oversee Group-wide IT contracts, ensuring the compliance of license contracts.
• Establish and maintain robust Group IT governance policy and frameworks.
• Drive compliance with the IT policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards across the Group.
• Develop and implement communication strategies to support the Group Technology function strategic agenda.

Roles & Responsibilities

Vendor Performance & Contract Management

  • Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs; lead executive-level vendor relationship management.
  • Oversee governance of third-party IT vendors, ensuring contracts, SLAs, and risk controls are properly managed.
  • Ensure robust contract governance and compliance with procurement and legal standards.
  • Partner with Group Sourcing to lead RFPs and vendor selection processes for strategic IT initiatives.
  • Work on key strategic projects (including M&A opportunities) at the Group or in the Business Units maintaining high level of confidentiality

IT Governance

  • Establish and maintain IT governance policy, standards, and procedures across the Group.
  • Ensure IT policies are enforced consistently across the organisation.
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits related to IT governance.
  • Act as the Group liaison for Risk & Compliance and Internal Audit teams and regulators on IT governance matters with Business Unit CTOs.
  • Monitor IT-related risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards.
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits related to IT governance. Ensure audit findings are monitored and closed.
  • Ensure risk controls are in-place and support risk control assessment.

Group Technology Communications

  • Lead the creation, implementation and evolution of the Group Technology Communications strategy.
  • Support creation of high-quality content for speeches, newsletters, social media, press releases, and other internal communications as required.

Risk and Compliance

  • Assume leadership in observing AIA compliance standards, applicable governing legislation, regulations, directives, policies, and industry association guidelines.
  • Review and identify operations risks, the adequacy of measurement, control, integrity and reporting of risk information and the maintenance of compliant operations.

People and Culture

  • Manage and motivate a diverse team across geographies (Hong Kong and Malaysia) to commit and achieve tangible outcomes (including successful delivery of mission critical services to the AIA Group).

  • Lead by engaging and empowering employees, as well as embodying the leadership essentials of Clarity, Courage, and Humanity.

Minimum Job Requirement

  • 15-20+ years of vendor management, and technology relates experience, in complex international environments, preferably in insurance or financial services sector.
  • Proven track record of managing diverse team and proactively developing talents to drive performance and engagement.
  • Creates a culture that promotes the AIA’s values and high performing standards through role modelling, accountability, and ownership of decisions.
  • A person with the highest integrity and personal character, whose professional and personal conduct reflects favourable upon AIA.
  • Strong experience in engaging and managing C-suit stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and partner with key internal and external stakeholders.
