Job Description

Director of Training Operations
Everblue  ·  Huntersville, NC  ·  Hybrid

About Everblue

Everblue helps government agencies and nonprofits run better through software, program management, and workforce training. We train thousands of people every year in BPI, weatherization, RESNET, LEED, solar, electrification, and more. We’re a small, mission-driven team that’s low-ego, hardworking, and obsessed with getting it done and done right.

The role

We’re hiring a Director of Training Operations to own the engine that makes Everblue’s training run. You’ll report to the Senior Director of Workforce Development and lead the teams behind curriculum, instructors, class logistics, customer service, and the overall student experience. Your job is to make every Everblue student feel like they got the best training of their career, on a budget that works.

What you’ll own

  • Leading the operations team. Coach and hold accountable the Project Coordinator (class logistics), CS Lead (customer service), and Training Manager (curriculum and instructors).
  • Owning the student experience. Obsess over the complete start-to-finish experience: enrollment emails, scheduling, the classroom, curriculum quality, instructor performance, and follow-up.
  • Running the training engine efficiently. Keep class budgets healthy, the training center humming, and the IT systems behind it all working.
  • Hiring, developing, and managing. Build a team that delivers excellence without drama.
  • Driving profitability. Deliver an awesome student experience profitably by being efficient with how we spend.

What we’re looking for

  • 5 to 10 years leading operations, learning and development, or training delivery. Experience in education services, certification, or workforce training is a strong plus.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and (when needed) parting ways with team members.
  • Obsession with customer (student) experience. You sweat the small details.
  • Technology competence. You’re comfortable picking up and implementing IT systems that make the work easier.
  • Cleverness. You know how to deliver excellent work while keeping the P&L healthy.
  • A bias to deliver on the intent behind every task, not just the letter of it. When you’re handed a problem, you go figure it out. No excuses, no reminders needed. (If A Message to Garcia doesn’t already mean something to you, give it a read.)
  • Someone who stays curious and keeps ego low You’d rather get the right answer than be the smartest person in the room.

Our values

  • Mission-Driven. We get it done and done right. We deliver on the intent behind every task. We own the outcome.
  • Relentless Pursuit of Excellence. We challenge the status quo, stay curious, keep ego low, and stay efficient and resourceful.
  • People First. We lead with trust, stay personable and real, and work hard and play hard.

Why you’ll love working here

  • Mission that matters. Your work powers real workforce, energy, and efficiency programs across the U.S.
  • Hybrid setup based at our Huntersville, NC office. Flexible enough to do great work and have a great life.
  • Competitive compensation with bonus eligibility, a SIMPLE IRA with company match, and a health reimbursement program.
  • A small, capable team that moves fast, ships well, and stays out of each other’s way.
