Job Description

We're looking for a freelance Senior Technical Designer with deep denim expertise to support fit, construction, and quality our denim line for [hands-on, senior-level engagement — you'll ensure technical technical standards for the category are met and will partner closely with the existing team, design, merchandising, sourcing, and factories from concept through bulk production. 
Responsibilities 
  • Support technical design team during the engagement: assist with creating fit blocks, grading rules, maintain construction standards, and spec architecture across the assigned denim assortment 
  • Partner with design team to create tech packs for new seasonal styles  
  • Hold fit sessions on live models, making final fit calls and setting fit intent for the category 
  • Partner with wash/laundry teams and vendors to solve for shrinkage, distortion, and wash-to-wash consistency; troubleshoot recurring issues at the root-cause level 
  • Work closely with in house patternmakers  and factories, ensuring fit accuracy  
Qualifications 
  • 6-8+ years of technical design experience, with substantial depth in denim/bottoms 
  • Expert-level knowledge of denim construction, wash processes (enzyme, stone, laser, etc.), and their effects on fit and shrinkage 
  • Proven track record leading fit sessions and making final, confident fit decisions 
  • Strong pattern-making and grading knowledge 
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, Excel, and knowledge of digital patternmaking a plus
