Job Description

An European LNG and gas infrastructure group is seeking a Director of Sustainability to lead its decarbonisation and ESG strategy. Based in Genoa, this role will define ambitious environmental targets, oversee implementation, and ensure alignment with EU climate frameworks while supporting the company's transition toward low-carbon gases (biomethane, hydrogen, e-fuels).

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the group's sustainability strategy across LNG terminals, pipeline networks, and storage facilities.
  • Oversee decarbonisation initiatives, including methane emissions reduction, biomethane integration, and hydrogen readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with the EU Methane Regulation, EU ETS, and CSRD reporting requirements.
  • Lead ESG reporting and stakeholder engagement, including investor and regulator communications.
  • Coordinate with operational teams on environmental KPIs and continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with NGOs, port authorities, and industry consortia.
  • Lead a sustainability team of 6 specialists across reporting, operations, and innovation.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • 10+ years in sustainability, ESG, or environmental leadership roles.
  • Deep understanding of EU climate regulations and CSRD/ESRS reporting.
  • Experience in oil & gas, LNG, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Sustainability.
  • Familiarity with OGMP 2.0 methane reporting and hydrogen-readiness frameworks.

Benefits

Salary €115,000 – €140,000 gross per annum. Bonus and standard benefits apply.

Responsabilità Principali

  • Definire la strategia di sostenibilità del gruppo (terminali GNL, gasdotti, stoccaggi).
  • Supervisionare le iniziative di decarbonizzazione: metano, biometano, predisposizione idrogeno.
  • Assicurare la conformità con il Regolamento Metano UE, l'EU ETS e la CSRD.
  • Guidare il reporting ESG e l'engagement degli stakeholder.
  • Coordinarsi con i team operativi sui KPI ambientali.
  • Gestire le relazioni con ONG, autorità portuali e consorzi industriali.

Requisiti

  • 10+ anni in sostenibilità, ESG o ruoli ambientali di leadership.

  • Esperienza nei settori oil & gas, GNL o industria pesante.

Pacchetto

Stipendio: 115.000 € – 140.000 € lordi annui. Bonus e benefit standard.
