The Director of Supply Chain will manage ASP Global replenishment supply chain activities to include all aspects of forecasting, purchasing, planning, scheduling, inventory control, and associated master data. This role will design and execute strategic plans, KPIs, ROI and inventory control to meet company’s short-term and long-term supply chain replenishment management and purchasing/production control requirements.
The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the purchasing supply chain team while creating an environment of continuous improvement.
- Ownership of creating, maintaining, and communicating product supply purchasing and execution plans within the organization and with external product supply partners.
- Define objectives and support to ensure on-time delivery while providing day-to-day guidance to ensure operational execution and excellence.
- Ownership of inventory demand management to include managing inventory and establish controls to ensure company is operating at the highest level of performance based on key performance metrics
- Develop strategies to minimize supply chain risk, while maximizing inventory turns. Ensures the timely and accurate flow of product information between sales, finance, and the supply chain teams so that promotions, replenishment, and product deletions are successfully managed and executed.
- Manage and expedite the inventory ordering process from issuing purchase orders and releases, to ensuring the on-time arrival and receipt of products.
- Ownership of stocking strategy potentially across multiple warehouse demand points.
- Manages the supply chain and product category interface with customer service and sales.
- Works closely with sales to develop accurate and timely usage forecasts.
- Develop depletion plans to manage obsolete inventory to minimize exposure.
- Manages performance of the supply chain group through a culture of continuous improvement to exceed the established goals and objectives.
- Maintains effective supplier and customer relations.
- Ability to execute Supply Chain strategies in established ERP (P21) while identifying key business process improvement areas.
- Key objectives will be managing inventory levels, planning and executing replenishment, establishing seasonal finished goods supply plans while meeting and exceeding customer expectations for service, quality, and cost.
- Work with sales and customer service teams to onboard new business while creating visibility to current business inventories and replenishment pipelines.
- Participate in cross functional project teams
- Support financial budgeting and reporting for product acquisition, supply, and inventory valuation
- Work with finance teams to establish business case(s) for investment in new or existing product categories
- Assists with maintaining and improving ERP and MRP business systems while continuously improving his/her teams’ tools to ensure progress towards a world class procurement organization
- Drive collaboration with the quality and regulatory department to ensure all suppliers are adhering to established quality standards while meeting regulatory requirements.
- Issue and manage procurement scorecards and charge backs while working closely with sourcing teams to establish a world class supplier base
- Define and maintain comprehensive KPI’s and success factors for supply replenishment (e.g., inventory availability, lead time, stock turns, service levels, and E&O reporting) for the CEO and CFO while demonstrating performance levels and providing insight for continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement business processes that make problems visible while also separating acute from chronic issues for resolution.
- Implement a plan, do, check, and adjust (PDCA) cycle to address chronic issues ensuring corrective action.
- Oversee weekly/monthly inventory review of stock levels, supply risk and inventory aging and determine actions to minimize aging and destruction and maximize on-time deliveries

Qualifications
Qualifications:

Minimum of 10-12 years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support in supply chain and purchasing/procurement management. Significant experience in manufacturing, MRP systems, healthcare, and distribution setting is desirable. Experience should also include exposure to both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of in-house information and communication systems. The ideal candidate will also have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of supply chain and or purchasing experience within the healthcare industry.
- Extensive knowledge of forecasting, planning and inventory management
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office-Word, Outlook and Power Point and advanced knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of work order planning and bill of material management
- Excellent organization skills, ability to balance immediate and long-term priorities and exceptional multitasking skills are a necessity
- Proactive and motivated self-starter, organized, and effective at managing time (able to meet multiple deadlines for deliverables)
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with individuals at all levels to resolve any critical issues impacting the business
- Have worked in a mid to large size company
