Summary

The Student Services Manager III serves as Director of the Student Success Center and provides leadership for student onboarding, advising support, enrollment initiatives, and retention efforts. This position oversees the Student Success Center's day-to-day operations, supervises staff, and collaborates across the college to enhance the student experience from initial enrollment through completion. The Director utilizes data, technology, and cross-functional partnerships to improve student engagement, retention, and overall student success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct and coordinate the daily operations of the Student Success Center, ensuring the delivery of high-quality onboarding, advising, and student support services for prospective and enrolled students. Develop and implement outreach strategies that promote student engagement and success.
  • Evaluate and enhance communication methods, service delivery models, and student support processes to ensure services remain accessible, responsive, and student-centered.
  • Supervise and support Student Success Center staff, including professional staff, support staff, and student employees. Coordinate recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, and professional development activities.
  • Utilize data and technology to analyze enrollment trends, student retention metrics, and intervention effectiveness. Develop, implement, and monitor improvement strategies designed to increase enrollment conversion rates, retention, and student persistence.
  • Collaborate with academic and student affairs departments to ensure a seamless transition for students between onboarding, advising, and academic support services.
  • Serve as co-chair of the Student Services Retention Committee and provide reports, recommendations, and data-informed strategies to Student Services leadership regarding student retention and success initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for Student Success Center technology systems, coordinating system integrations, updates, training, troubleshooting, and vendor relationships to ensure efficient operations and effective service delivery.
  • Represent the Student Success Center on institutional committees, task forces, and working groups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires a master's degree and experience in student services programs.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree and four (4) years of experience in student services, management, and student information systems, preferably within a higher education environment.
  • Experience leading student onboarding, advising, enrollment management, retention, or student success initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success with project management, process improvement, and implementation of student-focused programs and services.
  • Experience supervising professional, administrative, or student support staff.
  • Experience analyzing and utilizing student data to guide decision-making and improve enrollment and retention outcomes.
  • Knowledge of student services functions and the relationships among advising, enrollment, retention, and academic support services.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, student information systems, and other technology used to support student success initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to evolving technology and operational needs.
