The Director of Strategic Sourcing holds a senior, strategic position responsible for advancing enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives for a third-party hotel management company operating approximately 110 hotels across the United States and Canada. Reporting directly to the SVP of Procurement, this role will play a crucial role in the development of the organization’s sourcing model enhancing an existing Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) relationship while expanding direct supplier contracts to foster increased value, flexibility, and performance.

This role is considered hybrid with a schedule of both remote work and in-office work in Fairfax, Virginia.

RESPONSBILITIES

  • Partner closely with the SVP of Procurement to develop and execute a multiyear strategic sourcing roadmap aligned with company growth, operational priorities, and financial objectives.
  • Support enterprise procurement governance by driving sourcing strategies that balance GPO leverage with targeted direct supplier engagements.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives across key hotel spend categories, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, create value, and improve service.
  • Negotiate national and regional direct supplier contracts, including commercial terms, rebates, service levels, and performance metrics.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and decision support to senior procurement leadership.
  • Optimize utilization of the company’s existing GPO agreement while identifying categories and suppliers best suited for direct contracting.
  • Partner with GPO stakeholders to improve program compliance, visibility, and realized savings.
  • Build and maintain a preferred supplier framework that aligns with brand standards, operational needs, and procurement strategy.
  • Conduct enterprise-level spend analysis to identify sourcing opportunities, risks, and trends.
  • Build and manage sourcing models, contract trackers, savings reports, and dashboards using Excel and Smartsheet.
  • Track expected vs. realized savings and regularly report outcomes to the SVP of Procurement and executive stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a GPO while expanding direct supplier contracts.
  • Strong analytical background with hands-on experience conducting spend analysis and building sourcing models.
  • Experience in hospitality, lodging, multi unit operations, or facilities-driven environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet for tracking, reporting, and sourcing project management.
  • Proven negotiation and contract-management experience.
  • Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Estimated 20–35% travel, including supplier meetings, property visits, and leadership sessions.
