Job Description

Director, Strategic Partnerships Role Overview

Upperline Health is seeking an entrepreneurial and execution-focused Director, Strategic Partnerships to lead our market expansion and network integration strategy. As a high-growth, private-equity-backed healthcare organization, we are at a pivotal stage of scaling our clinical footprint.

You will be responsible for bridging the gap between hospital systems, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), and our internal clinical teams. Your goal is to move beyond transactional agreements and create "sticky," long-term partnerships that enhance patient outcomes, improve operational efficiency, support our doctors, and drive sustainable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hospital Alliance Development: Lead the identification, negotiation, and execution of hospital partnerships. You will be responsible for securing 3–5 high-value agreements in year one, where we provide critical podiatry and hospitalist coverage, relieving health systems of the burden of direct recruitment.
  • ASC & Outpatient Strategy: Spearhead the development of ASC partnerships. Your focus is to build a low-cost, high-efficiency network that provides our DPMs with increased earning potential while creating long-term, sticky clinical relationships. Target: Execute 2 new ASC partnerships in 2026.
  • Operational Frameworks: Create a scalable, national framework for clinical call pools that can be seamlessly leveraged across existing and new markets.
  • Managed Care & Network Growth: Collaborate on CIN/contracting initiatives to enhance reimbursement rates, with a prioritized focus on expanding our footprint into new markets, specifically California.
  • National Playbook Development: Synthesize local successes and market learnings into a comprehensive, repeatable national playbook for hospital and ASC partnerships that our Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) can execute as we scale.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years in healthcare business development, provider network development, or hospital/health system administration.
  • Strategic Growth: Demonstrated experience in a PE-backed or high-growth healthcare services environment.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to structure complex, multi-year contracts with hospital systems and ASCs.
  • Financial Acumen: Comfort with economic modeling and a strong understanding of how to drive margin improvement in clinical service lines.
  • Influencing Skills: A natural collaborator who can navigate a matrixed organization, influencing RMDs, RVPs, and executive stakeholders without needing direct authority.

About You

  • Entrepreneurial Architect: You don’t just follow a vision; you shape it. You crave the responsibility of building new business platforms and models.
  • Data-Driven Problem Solver: You have a talent for translating high-level organizational goals into technical, actionable plans and blueprints with clear measurable outcomes.
  • Servant Leader: You lead with humility and determination. No task is too small if it contributes to the success of the mission, and no obstacle is too big to overcome through collaboration and innovation.
  • Master Relationship-Builder: You possess the executive presence to influence stakeholders and partners while motivating team members across various functions.
  • Growth Mindset: You are naturally curious, constantly looking for ways to disrupt the status quo.
