About the role:
This role requires a dynamic leader in aesthetic taste with the ability to give practical advice on creating a tasteful spa environmentwith an eye for detail and luxury. They understand market trends and have a proventrack recordfor collaborating with Directors of Marketing to put together sound business plans and supporting action steps. They are articulate and confident, able to advocate the importance and relevance of the spa experience in a resort locationThis individual willbe responsible formanaging staff, ensuring all spa areas are wellmaintainedand in good working order As well as theguest experience maintained at the expectedlevel,and the department’s financial goals are met.This individual is also responsible for creating a wellness sanctuary withyear-roundprograming for locals and hotel guests.Partnering with our retail teams to implement creative seasonal programmingforthe retail areas.
What you will do:
Ensures the training of the Spa staff to exceed standards. Ability to work with Learning Manager and Designated Trainers to achieve the best possible learning environments for spa and retail staff.
The ability tobe responsible forthe administration of goods, requisitions, inventories, storage and cost-effective usage of all department related materials and assets, according to standards toensure forsmooth operation.
The ability to issue recommendationsregardingthe annual operating budget, capital investment budget, operating planning, and further periodic evaluations of financial performance, including reports on sales and operations with supporting statistical data
The ability tomaintainoperating criteria/spa concepts andbe responsible forthe coordination and scheduling of all Spa related services in relation to consistency with policies,philosophyandobjectivesfor the Spa.
The ability to interview and select job applicants as well as effectively supervise, discipline, mentor and give performance evaluations for Spa employees and convey clear instructions and guidance to staff andestablishworking relationships thatattaina high levelof effective employee morale.
The ability toparticipatein regular staff meetings to keep employees informed of hotel policies and changes as well as ways to increase sales and service.
The ability to work closely with Engineering Housekeeping, and Laundry, tomaintainquality and mechanical operation, cleanliness andspecial requirementsof all Spa equipment and facilities
The ability to keepthe Resort Managerinformed about the department, all employees' performance, andguestsconcerns and comments andassistwith other duties as needed.
Oversight of retail products andpurchasingin multiple areas to balancein-houseinventory.
Development and trainingofwellness programming and services.
What you bring:
Minimum 5 years management experience in a luxury Spa
Demonstrates superior knowledge and passionofspa, wellness, and holistic modalities.
Thorough knowledge of 5-star service standards, effective application of spa staffing models, proven ability to create and implement spa service menus, effective retail management, successful marketing strategies, and demonstrated ability to project costs, revenue and to adhere to the budget that supports monthly / annual financials.
A proven record of being able to schedule staff and complete payroll records and reportsin accordance withbudgeted guidelines.
A record of promoting growth through increasing revenue and daily operational efficiency whilemaintaininghealthy spa morale.
Fluency in English isrequiredfor thislocationand this job requires applicants to have current work authorization in the in the United States.
What we offer:
Salary range: $110k - $120k annually
