Title: Director of Software Development

Location: Remote

Position Summary

The Director of Software Development is a key leadership role responsible for driving product vision, leading research and development initiatives, and ensuring that software products meet business, customer, security, and operational needs. This role serves as a bridge between business leaders, development teams, IT, customers, pre-sales teams, and SaaS operations, providing both strategic direction and hands-on technical leadership across multiple products.

The position requires strong product ownership, deep software development expertise, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams across business analysis, development, quality assurance, security, and operations. The role also provides architecture leadership for .NET-based products, participates in customer-facing and pre-sales activities, supports RFP responses, and helps guide the ongoing evolution of secure, agile, and efficient development practices.

Responsibilities

• Work with business leaders to drive product vision and align product direction with organizational goals, customer needs, and market opportunities.
• Define product strategy aligned with business goals, customer needs, and market opportunities.
• Lead product R&D, ensuring secure, scalable, and innovative solutions.
• Oversee engineering, business analysis, and QA teams, driving best practices and delivery excellence.
• Provide technical leadership for .NET/C# products, including architecture guidance and hands-on support when needed.
• Manage SaaS environments, security, compliance, and the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
• Champion Agile delivery and continuous improvement across teams.
• Support pre-sales, RFPs, customer presentations, and complex technical issue resolution.
• Partner with stakeholders to deliver business value and practical technology solutions.
• Foster strong cross-functional relationships and communication with technical and business audiences.
• Lead teams through change, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality results.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in CS, Engineering, or related field
• Experience leading product vision, software development initiatives, and cross-functional technology teams.
• Strong background in C#, .NET architecture, software development practices, and technical leadership.
• Experience with SaaS product environments, secure software development practices, agile delivery, customer support, and pre-sales or RFP activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with business leaders, technical teams, customers, vendors, and senior management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to anticipate challenges, work independently, and solve problems with cross-functional teams.
