The Department of Small Business Services seeks a dynamic and dedicated Director of Social Media to create engaging content and translate the agency's priorities into high-impact digital storytelling. This role will elevate the agency’s services targeting small businesses, commercial corridors, jobseekers, and aspiring entrepreneurs across New York City and spotlight the agency's role in strengthening the local economy through compelling storytelling that builds our online presence and drives traffic to our services. -Research and identify new digital platforms and new media opportunities the agency can leverage
Video & Creative Partnerships
-Produce recurring short- and long-form video series spotlighting small businesses, entrepreneurs, and agency success stories across New York City's five boroughs, overseeing the full production process from concept through final edit
-Build and manage relationships with local creators, influencers, and digital media outlets, securing partnerships for press conferences, campaign rollouts, and cultural moments
-Oversee the production of graphics and visual content supporting social media, press events, and other storytelling efforts
Cross-Team Coordination
-Coordinate closely with the Press Secretary and Communications Director to ensure alignment across social media, press, marketing, and advertising efforts
-Staff agency leadership at content shoots, creator engagements, and public-facing digital moments as needed
Team Leadership & Performance
