Job Description

The Director of Slots is responsible for the long range and daily direction, planning, and operations of the Slot Department and the Sportsbook Department to ensure optimal performance levels and to achieve company goals, in full accordance with all Company Operational Policies and Procedures and Gaming regulations.

  • Use strategies to engage employees, foster a positive work environment, gather and resolve employee issues, and retain top performers.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with employees to share information, listen to feedback, and role model Caesars standards.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise.
  • Ensures department and assigned staff operate in compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures, gaming regulations, and external agency requirements.
  • Assist with reviews operating budgets for both departments and is actively involved in long-term planning and achievement of companywide goals in regard to gaming revenue and operational expenses, including Slots and Sportsbook personnel staffing requirements.
  • Assist and helps establish and administers procedures pertaining to the proper coordination of all operating activities relating to all Slots and Sportsbook with special emphasis on the security of company funds.
  • Uses knowledge of games to evaluate and monitor environment, games and layouts.
  • Responsible to ensure that the Casino floor is optimized with the best games and denominations to ensure maximum profitability for the Horseshoe Indianapolis.
  • Management of staff scheduling to ensure company service standards are met.
  • Provide instruction, training and implementation of service and other company programs to staff.
  • Research and resolve guest and / or employee issues effectively and professionally.
  • Manage, organize, and complete assigned projects with attention to detail within the established deadline.
  • Protect the confidentiality of company files and documents under immediate control.
  • Management of human resource responsibilities to include training, issuing discipline and ensure the proper documentation of all actions taken for assigned staff members.
  • Will manage risk factors within the company department or division employed, in such a way as to eliminate company exposure to insurance claims and legal/court challenges.
  • Ensures that all company, department or division activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations. This includes but is not limited to adherence to Human Resource, safety and workers’ compensation policies and procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word) and have knowledge of Slot and Sportsbook operating system.
  • Obtain optimum efficiency, cleanliness, economy of operations and maximum profitability by performing duties personally or through subordinate managers/supervisors

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.

  • Ability to lead & mentor a team.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond.

  • Ability to work with confidential data required.

  • Ability to troubleshoot challenges quickly and resolve them.

  • Ability to complete projects and goals by deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and (5) years of related gaming experience, at least five (5) of which are specific to Slot or Electronic Gaming operations, and at least three (3) years as a supervisor, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience. Two (2) years of Class III Gaming experience preferred.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

  • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

  • Must operate effectively in a deadline-oriented and multi-task environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older and be able to obtain an Indiana Gaming License.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills, along with the ability to forecast the time management needs of others.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Horseshoe Indianapolis is a smoking establishment, therefore must be able to work in a smoking environment.

  • Must be able to work in a highly populated fast-paced and noisy environment.

  • Sensitive Key Access. This position has access to the sensitive areas within the Slot Operations.

  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards is essential to the successful performance of this position.
