Job Description

STRUCTURE RESOURCES is seeking a Director of Skilled Trades Recruiting to lead our recruiting team supporting our skilled trades lease labor business. This person will oversee all Talent Coordinators and be responsible for recruiting performance, team development, and ensuring our clients’ current and future craft workforce needs are met.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience and a proven background recruiting electrical and mechanical skilled trades professionals for commercial and industrial construction. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines team management, recruiting strategy, and support for our Craft Team Members.

About Us

STRUCTURE RESOURCES is backed by over 30 years of experience in highly skilled craft staffing, specialty contracting, and construction management. We provide Total Talent Solutions that help our client partners build effective workforces while creating opportunities for skilled craft professionals.

Our Craft Team Members are our Most Valuable Resource. That belief drives how we recruit, support our people, prioritize safety, and choose the contractors we partner with.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop all Talent Coordinators supporting the skilled trades lease labor division.
  • Establish clear recruiting goals, assign priorities, and hold the team accountable for recruiting activity, candidate quality, timely placements, and retention.
  • Oversee daily recruiting operations, balancing workloads and allocating resources to meet client needs across projects and markets.
  • Partner with company leadership, sales, and operations to forecast workforce demand and develop recruiting plans for upcoming projects.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for electrical and mechanical skilled trades positions in commercial and industrial construction.
  • Coach Talent Coordinators on sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate communication, and relationship management.
  • Recruit directly when needed, particularly for urgent, difficult-to-fill, or high-volume workforce needs.
  • Develop consistent processes for evaluating craft experience, qualifications, availability, and suitability for client assignments.
  • Expand sourcing efforts through referrals, job boards, social media, industry contacts, trade organizations, and community partnerships.
  • Oversee candidate and Craft Team Member communication regarding pay, benefits, assignment expectations, and work environments.
  • Support retention through regular communication, assignment transitions, issue resolution, and coordination with operations.
  • Serve as an escalation point for recruiting challenges and Craft Team Member concerns, partnering with the appropriate leaders on performance issues, disciplinary matters, and terminations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of candidate information, recruiting activity, assignments, and employee records.
  • Track and report recruiting performance, including pipeline health, time to fill, fill rates, starts, and retention.
  • Identify process improvements and new recruiting approaches that increase team effectiveness.
  • Promote safety awareness, integrity, and professionalism throughout the recruiting and placement process.
  • Hire, onboard, train, and evaluate Talent Coordinators as the division grows.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of recruiting experience in skilled trades staffing, with a strong background in electrical and mechanical trades for commercial and industrial construction.
  • Prior experience leading recruiting teams, including coaching, performance management, and accountability for team results.
  • Experience supporting a lease labor, contract staffing, or high-volume craft staffing business.
  • Strong understanding of skilled trades positions, craft qualifications, construction environments, and project staffing demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and respond to changing workforce needs.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience using recruiting metrics and reporting to guide decisions and improve performance.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, recruiting platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, hiring practices, and employee documentation requirements.
  • A hands-on leadership approach and a commitment to supporting both Craft Team Members and client partners.

Work Location and Travel

  • Based in or near Indianapolis, Indiana.
  • Approximately 30% travel, with flexibility based on business needs, to support recruiting teams, visit project sites, and connect with Craft Team Members and industry partners.

If you are an experienced skilled trades recruiting leader who enjoys developing teams and creating opportunities for craft professionals, we encourage you to apply with your resume.
