Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Mayakoba as our new Director or Sales Leisure to lead our sales operations in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee all sales activities, drive revenue growth, and build a high-performing sales team dedicated to delivering exceptional leisure experiences. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies that align with organizational objectives while maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction and service excellence.

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and market expansion goals across leisure properties and offerings
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify opportunities for business growth and market positioning
  • Manage sales forecasting, pipeline development, and performance metrics to ensure accurate reporting and data-driven decision-making
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners to drive business development and customer retention
  • Oversee pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and customized packages to optimize revenue and market competitiveness
  • Monitor sales performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed organizational targets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments including marketing, operations, and customer service to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives
  • Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and generate leads

Prepare comprehensive sales reports and present insights to senior management for strategic planning and decision-making

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in the leisure, hospitality, or tourism industry
  • Proven track record of successfully leading sales teams and achieving or exceeding revenue targets
  • Strong expertise in sales strategy development, business planning, and market analysis
  • Demonstrated proficiency in P&L management and financial acumen
  • Excellent knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) systems and sales analytics tools
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to identify market opportunities and drive business growth
  • Experience managing multi-property or multi-location sales operations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (preferred)
  • Experience in luxury or premium leisure market segments (preferred)
  • Familiarity with international sales practices and diverse market dynamics (preferred)
