Job Description

At Hotel Nyack, a JdV by Hyatt Hotel, we're looking for a strategic, results-driven Director of Sales to lead our property's sales vision and drive revenue growth across rooms, group, catering, and business travel. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives on building relationships, closing business, and partnering closely with operations to deliver flawless execution.

About the Role

As Director of Sales, you'll own the hotel's overall sales strategy - from annual planning and forecasting to day-to-day account management and team leadership. You'll lead the property sales team, drive proactive and reactive selling efforts, and ensure that every piece of business sold is accurately contracted, communicated, and executed in partnership with Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Front Office, and Operations.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the strategic business leader of the hotel's sales department, owning reactive and proactive sales activity, segmentation, catering, group, and business travel sales
  • Develop and implement the annual sales business plan and budget in alignment with property revenue goals and brand strategy
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals, and lead weekly sales and pace meetings with the General Manager and Revenue Management
  • Build and grow relationships with key corporate, group, association, social, wedding, government, and business travel accounts
  • Continuously prospect for new business through sales calls, outreach, networking, site tours, and structured prospecting plans
  • Own the group and catering pipeline from lead through turnover, ensuring contracts, deposits, and commercial terms are completed accurately and on time
  • Partner with Operations to ensure rooming lists, resumes, BEOs, billing instructions, and VIP requirements are accurate and communicated on time
  • Prepare and maintain accurate sales forecasts, analyze market trends, and monitor STR, RevPAR Index, and booking pace to identify market share opportunities
  • Ensure all leads and RFPs (including Cvent) are responded to within established timelines, and maintain accurate records in Hyatt Envision and other CRM systems
  • Coordinate property-level marketing initiatives with Palette Hotels and Hyatt/JdV brand resources
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop the sales team to deliver results and uphold a people-first culture
  • Manage the sales budget, maintain required reporting, and ensure satisfactory results on brand QA and ownership audits

What We're Looking For

  • Proven senior sales leadership experience in a hotel environment, ideally with group, catering, and business travel sales experience
  • Strong track record of revenue growth, account development, and team leadership
  • Experience with CRM/sales systems (Hyatt Envision or similar) and lead management platforms (Cvent)
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data, forecasts, and performance reports
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to sit for extended periods for administrative work, and stand/walk during property tours and client visits
  • Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed
