SLS Playa Mujeres is seeking a highly strategic, results-driven Director of Sales to lead and execute the overall commercial strategy for one of the most dynamic luxury lifestyle all-inclusive resorts in Mexico. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, maximizing market share, and positioning the property as a leader within the luxury hospitality segment.

  • Develop, implement, and execute the hotel’s strategic sales plan, including annual goals, monthly SMART targets, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive data, and demand patterns to identify revenue opportunities and adjust strategies proactively.
  • Establish pricing strategies, group ceilings, and optimal business mix to maximize profitability.
  • Lead all sales efforts across transient, group, corporate, and catering segments.
  • Oversee account management strategies, ensuring strong production from key and top accounts.
  • Generate new business through proactive prospecting, lead generation, and relationship development.
  • Coordinate group and transient sales activities to optimize revenue and market mix.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions.
  • Act as a role model and leader, embodying company values and service culture.
  • Represent the hotel in industry events, trade shows, and community organizations.
  • Lead client presentations, site inspections, and high-level negotiations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with luxury consortia, travel advisors, and key partners.
  • Work closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, Rooms Division, and Food & Beverage to ensure alignment and maximize total hotel performance.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of all hotel operations to support a holistic commercial approach.
  • Ensure adherence to company sales policies, SOPs, and brand standards.
  • Manage the sales department budget and expenses effectively.
  • Monitor and evaluate sales performance metrics and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales leadership experience in a similar size operation, preferably within a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment.
  • Strong expertise in leisure, group, corporate, and catering sales segments.
  • In-depth knowledge of luxury hospitality market dynamics, trends, and brand positioning (all-inclusive experience is a plus).
  • Proven financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Advanced negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and distribution platforms.
