Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales and Product Development for Books & Library Services, this position is responsible for directing and managing resources to ensure sales growth; timely and effective development of prospects and response to customer needs through leadership of the Sales Team is expected. This position will build effective key account relationships, understand the sales team's training and development needs, and provide coaching and insight for the improvement of their sales performance for the success and profitability of the Company. This position works in partnership with Marketing, Customer Care and other Brodart departments who touch and impact the overall customer experience.

  • Develop action plans and sales strategies for the Library materials market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and results in improved profitability.
  • Manage and develop all members of the Sales Team engaged in making customer contacts to effectively sell products and services to include the development of commission or incentive programs that reward superior efforts.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships that are conducive to continuing orders and increased new business.
  • Evaluate and implement sales processes that will ensure sales growth and improved market share.
  • Assist with development of pricing strategies that provide a competitive posture without compromising margins.
  • Establish systems for effective tracking and management reporting of sales activities to ensure the achievement of sales goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the direction and operation of the inside sales associates including the development and implementation of an outbound calling program.
  • Participate in cross functional teams as may be required.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Five or more years of sales experience in a consultative environment, with proven sales results; experience in the library or publishing industry preferred.
  • Ability to understand varied and complex customer workflow requirements and develop customized solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills both in person and via telephone.
  • Provide a vision for the Sales Team consistent with company's strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint) and CRM applications.
  • Significant travel required to customers, conventions, sales territories and home office.
  • Remote office environment, close and distant vision, using hands and fingers to handle and feel, talk and hear, sitting.
