Director of Risk Management – Las Vegas, NV

Full-time | Permanent / Direct Hire | $110,000 – $161,000 per year

A respected acute care teaching hospital in Las Vegas is looking for a Director of Risk Management to lead its risk and patient safety program. This is a high-visibility leadership role. Requirements

What You'll Do

• Lead the hospital-wide risk management and patient safety program, including incident reporting, claims management, and the review of patient safety events.
• Run root cause analyses (RCA), failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA), and other quality improvement tools, and turn the findings into action plans.
• Keep the hospital ready for surveys and in line with Joint Commission standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, state regulations, licensing, and accreditation requirements.
• Work with physicians, nursing leaders, and clinical teams on proactive risk reduction and quality improvement.
• Analyze risk and safety data, spot trends, and give leadership clear reports and recommendations.
• Act as a calm, professional point of contact for patients, families, and the public on risk matters.
• Travel occasionally as needed.

What You Bring

• A bachelor's degree in a related field (required). A master's degree is preferred.
• 2–5 years of healthcare risk management experience (required). Acute care hospital experience is preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience (preferred). Management experience is required for this director-level role.
• CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) certification (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Lean or Six Sigma experience and statistical or data analysis skills (a strong plus).
• Skill with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and hospital information systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
