The Director of Residential Services for Developmental Services (DS) is responsible for the successful administration and management of the clinical, budgetary and business operations of the residential programs in the Developmental Services Division.

Responsibilities
- Ensure implementation of philosophy of service delivery for DS residential services and implement the Advocates Way Philosophy and Intentional Care Standards in the DS residential programs.
- Develop senior leadership team within residential services to ensure high quality of services across all programs.
- Guide program development for new and current programs.
- Organize staff and staffing functions to provide appropriate and efficient contact, services and satisfaction for individuals we support.
- Manage, streamline or eliminate administrative processes and requirements in consultation with affiliated senior managers or designees including but not limited to Fiscal Office, Human Resources, Information Services, Advancement, Quality Management and Facilities.
- Develop, manage and administer budget for residential services; analyze expenditures and recommend adjustments.
- Act as a liaison between DS residential services, DDS, and other service providers and community resources.
- Coordinate and oversee all referrals to DS residential programs.
- Ensure quality management systems throughout the programs in conjunction with agency QM staff.
- Ensure that multi-source performance evaluations are conducted for all employees in residential services.
- Maintain constructive and productive internal and external communications with staff, managers, providers, vendors, and funding sources.
- Ensure health and safety of individuals and staff through compliance with agency policies, OSHA and other safety standards.
- Ensure that the clinical integrity of programs and services are maintained.
- Ensure that individuals are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights policies.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure that staff receives appropriate certifications and training to perform duties adequately.
- Ensure programs meet all regulatory requirements from funding sources and satisfactorily pass all funder reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in social services or other related field and four to six years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have experience in managing multiple programs.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactoril
- Must have sensitivity to the needs of the population.
- Basic computer knowledge, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
- Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
- Must hold a valid drivers’ license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.
