Yee Hong is one of the foremost providers of culturally appropriate senior care in the country, delivering high-quality resident experience and care to Chinese and other Asian seniors since 1994. The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors’ apartment units, with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition, Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care, a hospice residence, and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.

Yee Hong is preparing to welcome residents to the Ng Siu Chan Care Centre, a new, purpose-built home that will provide 224 seniors with high-quality, culturally responsive care in a modern and welcoming environment. We are creating a place where seniors can feel at home, understood, respected, and cared for.

Opening in early 2027, the Ng Siu Chan Care Centre represents an exciting new chapter for Yee Hong. The home focuses on serving the Chinese community and providing care that reflects residents’ language, traditions, food, programs, activities, and unique cultural needs.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Executive Director, your main purpose will be:

• To plan and develop a high-quality nursing care service that complies with relevant government legislations, policies and standards, and reflects the organization's vision, strategic direction and resident-centered approach.

What You Will Do:

• Lead and oversee nursing and restorative care services to ensure safe, high-quality, resident-centered care.
• Manage staffing and team performance, including recruitment, orientation, coaching, development, scheduling, and evaluation.
• Oversee resident admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring appropriate coordination of care.
• Lead quality improvement, risk management, infection prevention and control, and resident safety initiatives.
• Advocate for residents by addressing concerns and promoting their health, dignity, independence, and well-being.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care with physicians, pharmacists, rehabilitation, dietary, activation, social work, hospitals, and other partners.
• Develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Monitor department resources, budgets, supplies, and pharmaceutical inventory to support efficient operations.
• Provide nursing leadership and reporting to the Executive Director, Professional Advisory Committee, and other key stakeholders.
• Support the overall administration and strategic priorities of the LTC home.

What You Will Bring:

• Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario; Bachelor's degree in Nursing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including 1 year experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and long-term care nursing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an RN in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care setting, preferably in long-term care.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Computer literacy is required.
• Ability to communicate in Chinese or Japanese is an asset.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen.
